Firstly, we would like to actually thank you for your review as this is also a great way for our clients to see how we deal with such matters.
So we would like to respond to each point you made in your comment as we believe in these situations each side of the story should be told.
The procedure you had at our clinic was the Upper Blepharoplasty (upper eyelid) procedure. In regards to the cancellations before the procedure, with Dr Baris alongside any other doctors not only in Turkey, there can be emergency situations where the doctor is called into an emergency operation or consultation and when this happens we contact the clients as soon as we can to inform them. We also do not like to postpone appointments but when it comes to an emergency matter we have to do what is best. The room where you had the procedure, yes also botox is performed there also yet is a very sterile area and all equipment is taken from the sterilised packaging right in front of the patient and only used once. You also saw this whilst preparing you for the procedure.
Whilst contacting you regularly after the procedure to check up on you, you mentioned that you had flu symptoms and aches and pains and did not feel yourself, we suspected Covid-19 and contacted the hospital for you to go and see them in regards to the problem. The doctors there also were suspicious it was Covid-19 that you had and wanted to make a PCR test to verify this yet you refused as you had a flight home the next day and didn't want to miss it if you tested positive. We also encouraged you to take the test which you did not and travelled not knowing if you had the virus or not. Also i would like to add that your procedure was a superficial surgery and the chances of having any blood infection in regards to this is 1 in 100 billion people (for those who do not know this please look it up) Your surgery was not an open surgery, so for this reason it is near impossible for a blood infection to take place after such a superficial procedure. If for example there was a blood infection, this is one of the most harmful things and there is no way that a hospital would let you walk out with just medication as it would be mandatory to admit you there and then, even to intensive care.
When you were back in the UK you sent us a message with the concerns you had about your eye. We arranged several video calls, some of them were not available so it was postponed until you had the time to talk. On these videos we had a detailed conversation and yes they were based as normal as the consent forms that were signed by yourself each and every risk is written in exact detail. Some people can have a reaction to the suture which yes, is normal and is very easily fixed with a simple 5 minute laser procedure which we explained to you. In one comment, yes you are right, when asking to come for an appointment we were in the middle of moving to our new clinic and it was a very busy period for us as you can imagine. We in no means 'fobb' our patients off at all yet we keep in contact at all times to ensure that they know we are here for them. If there is one thing we would like to sincerely apologise for, it would be for the late reply in regards to you coming back to see us in regards to your concerns. We have never had any intention of not providing our service to any one of our patients in their recovery period. We received a message from you in regards that you had booked another surgeon to look at your concerns, we also answered and apologised for the late reply and invited you to come to the clinic whilst still in Fethiye for us to fix the problem yet you declined and insisted on writing this review.
We also suggest that each client research each and every surgeon of whom they are thinking of having surgery with, this is very important but I also suggest that whilst reading such comments or reviews please understand that there is always two sides to every story.
Thank you once again for your comment.
