Von der Übergabe des Fahrzeuges (Hotelzustellung) bis zur Abgabe verlief alles transparent und problemlos. Das Fahrzeug wurde sauber übergeben und war relativ neuwertig. Weiter so.

Was seen straight away. No problems or complications in hiring a car. And returning was as easy as hiring. As for the price, was very reasonable comparing with other car rentals.

A pleasure to rent from.
Took a car from Auto Rent for 10 days, June 20th to 30th.
Staff were extremely professional, helpful, efficient and polite. Everything was made clear and simple. Thorough inspection of car on collection and drop off, which was all done in quick time. Shuttle bus driver (Mr Venezuela) was a lovely man.
Our car was quiet new, low milage, spotless, very comfortable and just perfect. A great experience.

Ripped Off business
I had to pay a fee for collecting the car hour after the booking. The car was booked and paid for 9 days the only thing you’re supposed to do is holding it for nine freaking days, if necessary. Then I wanted to return hours earlier and was told that I would have to wait until the eighth hour in the morning or pay a fee for someone to turn up at 7:00 am, but guess what? They were there at six

Dear Vlademiro,
Thank you for your review and comments. We're sorry if you didn't have a 5 star experience with Auto Rent. investigating you've picked-up the car at 20:23. Our normal business hours are from 08:00 to 20:00, out of this an Out of Hours fee applies. That's why you've been charged the first time when you pick-up the car.
regarding the car return, it was scheduled for 10:00, but if you needed to return it earlier then 08:00, again Out Of Hours fee applies.
The Out of Hours applies to all pick-ups and returns between 20:00 and 08:00, and it's well explained in our website T&C and it should also be available on your reservation T&C through CarJet/DoYouSpain. If there was no information about Out of Hours fee on your voucher, you should complain to CarJet/DoYouSpain where you've made the reservation.
If you need any further details, we're happy to help by e-mail reservas@autorent.pt.
Kind regards,

Simple check in process (completed online before travelling). All documents complete with photos of all noted damage sent to my email before I left the office. The deposit held on my credit card was returned immediately upon returning the car. Very happy with Autorent (Faro) and thoroughly recommended.

The best in the Algarve
This rental agency (near Faro Airport) is the very best I have ever dealt with in Portugal. Last year I had the very worst experience with another major agency, and swore I would never use them again. A friend recommended Auto Rent, and so we tried them out. We’re actually new residents in PT, and I have simply been renewing my two week leases for the last 6 weeks (until we purchase a car). It’s almost cheaper to keep renting the car than purchase one, and it’s a basic, but fantastic car. You get great pricing, excellent customer care, and very good vehicles…what’s not to like about that?

Auto Rent is the best Car Hire Company…
Auto Rent is the best Car Hire Company in Faro. Cars are all good clean new cars, there are plenty of staff in the office, so you never have to wait for long. There is no hard sell for upgrades or insurance. The agent comes out with you to inspect the car, unlike many other companies just send you out to find it, then if there is more damage than is recorded you have to go back and wait to have the report changed. On return of the vehicle the inspection is quick and your deposit is released right then while you are present. I have been renting cars at Faro for 9 years and tried many companies but without any doubt Auto Rent are the best, so I always return.

DO NOT USE - received a fine 2 years later for tolls although paid for automatic toll payment
I rented a vehicle from this company and it was okay, although they did try to say I dented the car turned out it was there before.
Then 2 years later I have now received a fine going through tolls although I paid the extra for the electronic toll automatic pay. Its ridiculous the company will no longer respond to my emails. DO NOT USE

Very Professional Family Business
This was my first time renting a car for Auto Rent. The process was almost perfect. A couple of minor observations, but nothing that would deter me from using them again. The positive - the process was extremely professional (as good or better than some of the large companies), the pricing is very competitive (I loved that their CDW insurance was very reasonable), and finally the cars are relatively new and as advertised. On the negative, they do try to up-sale other insurance products. I was questioned why I wasn’t taking the glass and tire protection. Portugal seems to be an extremely safe country. I didn’t feel it was necessary. And finally the drop off at the airport is a bit of a hike. I understand that the airport probably controls the location of these spots, but I don’t understand why the drop off shuttle can’t drive to the terminal for their departing customers. Maybe there’s a reason that I’m not aware of.

Thank you for your fantastic 5-star review and for sharing your experience with us! We are delighted to hear that you found Auto Rent to be a very professional family business with competitive pricing and relatively new cars that met your expectations. We appreciate your feedback regarding the insurance upselling and the drop-off location at the airport.
Regarding the insurance upselling, we strive to offer transparent options to our customers while respecting their choices. We apologize if you felt pressured in any way and will take your feedback into consideration to ensure a smoother experience in the future.
As for the drop-off location at the airport, we understand your concern. Unfortunately, car rental shuttles are restricted by the airport authority to operate from car park 4, which is why they cannot drive closer to the terminal. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and appreciate your understanding.
We sincerely thank you for choosing Auto Rent and for your valuable feedback. We look forward to welcoming you back on your next visit to Faro!

Friendly, efficient staff.
The staff was friendly, efficient, and had everything ready. They picked us up and dropped us off at the airport with no hassle. In fact they were waiting for us. The price was exactly as quoted and there was no pressure when I declined the insurance. Drop off was just as easy. They were wonderful and I would absolutely rent from them again.
