Initially I had a few minor complaints. It was a little glitchy. A few things I thought would be helpful weren't available. Small things I could live with. Then the real issues started. The cursor would randomly jump around. I'd be typing and all of a sudden the cursor is three lines up, randomly in the middle of a different sentence.

I reached out to support and they said to refresh. Again, I learned to live with it. Refreshing constantly. It just became a part of the gig.

And then I woke up with entire chapters missing. Just gone. I reached out again. They were able to restore some of it, but not all of it. Thankfully, it was in a doc I had uploaded from Google Docs and not one of the ones I started on Atticus. If it had been, I would have been SOL.

I've already paid for it, so I'll use it for formatting. But I would NOT trust this site to write on at all. If you do, export after every single session.

I am not technically gifted with technology, and I often ask for help when I can't figure out how to do something. They always respond quickly, often within a couple of hours. They respond with kindness, never letting me feel like I'm dumb for not being able to do this. And they encourage me in my writing. Customer support is great!

I bought Atticus when it came out just to format ebooks. And it did a great job; I even put custom images on the first page of each chapter in my very first project!
Soon after I found myself writing in Atticus instead of Scrivener. Honestly, Scrivener has the best research/note features (I write fantasy and science fiction so this is important) but Atticus does not require the use of Dropbox and one license let me work on Mac, Linux, Windows and portable devices (unlike Scrivener). Atticus is my writing and formatting software of choice!

Atticus is a dream if you are an author. It PERFECTLY formats my manuscripts for loading into KDP for publishing.

Also, their customer support is OUTSTANDING! Virtually all of my questions have been answered in a most satisfactory way. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND ATTICUS! It’s also the most frequently used software of all the other writers in my writing community.

First of all, it was not that hard for a non-tech person such as myself to figure out how to format a book. The only problem I had was trying to sign in and the support was fantastic. I think if I did have any problem to come up with this app I would be able to count on the support to get me through. That is not always true nowadays. Thank you, Atticus support Group.

Atticus is a newer program, and with that, it's had its flaws. However, their customer service has always been fantastic when there are issues, and thus far, they seem to listen to the needs of their customer base. For a program that is a one time purchase, it's truly incredible to still offer this level of service. I've been using Atticus for about three years now and have always had good experiences. As an example, recently I had some weird, fluke issues happening in my latest manuscript rendering. Customer support was patient with me getting back to them and quick to offer actionable steps to try and resolve my issue. In the end, we were able to figure out what was happening and get my new manuscript rendered without issue.

I asked my favorite AI to help me make a choice between Atticus and another highly rated company. I watched many many YouTube vidoes as well. The difference maker was service. ALL of the others offered Help Chats. Atticus offered human's. I prefer humans. I have never made a better decisions. There service is superb!

I've been using Atticus for several months, and I love it! If you just want to use it for simple composition, it's very straightforward.

A while back, I asked about a dark mode, and even though it wasn't available at the time, the support team reached out to me about it. They had a brief meeting with me, and a few months later, they launched the feature!

I recently asked about adding strikethrough formatting for subtitles because I have a character whose name changes, and I want to show the change using that formatting for clarity. One of the support team members reached out and let me know that they brought it up with the team to see if that's something they can add because they like the idea! I love how receptive they are, and they've even added the ability to submit a feature request when you're reaching out to the support team.

It's honestly just a bonus that the price is more affordable than other writing software!

I have had Atticus for several years now. Many times I've had questions and contacted their Customer Support. Every. single. time. they have been incredibly fast at responding. They have also resolved every issue, usually with only one email. And their reply always offers a "next step" just in case their suggestion doesn't solve it right away. It is refreshing to work with a company that stands behind their product.

Atticus is my favourite writing and formatting software. It is not perfect (yet) but it's obvious that the creators are working on it constantly for the usres benefeit.

Atticus has absolutely the best customer service that I have experienced in decades. Prompt, effective, and professional.

Although the idea behind the software is very good, the software in itself is horrible. It is poorly developed. It is extremely difficult to use and requires a very fast bandwidth to be operational. You are locked out of it in the vast majority of the planet. I would not recommend it, but I am still waiting for better options.

No one on the planet surpasses Atticus's customer service. I make frequent queries and always receive responses that are prompt, helpful, and encouraging. I'm thankful for the helpful team at Atticus and recommend them without reservation!

I self publish frequently before using Atticus I’ve spent thousands of dollars hiring great support on fiverr. Atticus gave me the confidence to format on my own. Once I got over the learning curve and got the hang of the easeful intuitive interface I began to soar and this is a great feeling for my creative process. Highly recommend. The price point is unbeatable too for the amount of my money I get to save formatting for myself and clients.

Super fast response to questions that were not in the FAQ section

I was having an issue for weeks when it came to exporting the PDF of my books. I kept trying everything I could to resolve the issue. I finally reached out to support for help, and within minutes they got back to me with how to fix the problem, and it worked. I wish I had done this earlier it would have saved me hours of my time.
