There's not much more to add to similar reviews. Paid for a will through direct debit for a year, product quoted at 200 pounds. and even managed to overpay by 16 pounds. Of course they promised they would deliver drafts after 2 weeks, then of course company changed policy and would deliver only when "more money would accumulate in the account". Suffice to say I never got any drafts, let alone a will, even after paying in full and overpaying, and multiple written communications and requests left with no reply on their part. If this is not the definition of a scam, I don't know what is. I have contacted most of the relevant authorities but I'm not holding my breath. It is sad to see how a "company" like this is just left to operate unchecked. I just hope other people will be wiser than I was, and they will come to this page to read the reviews.

Hi I m so upset because I done I direct debit with Darren Abbott for over a year now I have over paid I didn’t receive any documents and I been trying to get I. Contact with them and is been impossible I think this is a scam and I will contact the authorities because is been impossible to talk to them

Appalling service, taken half the money and no will, I cancelled my direct debit otherwise I’d have paid even more , contacted them via email as they don’t answer the phone, promised to sent the copy of my will but still no will , this is after 6 months, my advice, avoid and take a will out face to face with a decent company.

Hope youfall under a bus took my 250pound to do me a new will not answer my calls or t exts

POOR. Happy to take your money but do not deliver,been over a year since I arranged a will & LPA and I have had nothing but excuses about delays.I would avoid . Darren Abbot sold me mine, very pleasant,maybe that's how he get's he's sales.

If I could give zero stars I would, it was all great and lovely when Darren Abbot called me to ask if I had a will in place, so they took my monthly payments but 6 months later no draft of my will, tried to call, no answer so I emailed asking where my will was, Darren said he would sort it, yeah right, still no will, so before I could be ripped off any more I cancelled my direct debit, that’s a £140 down the pan, appalling company, they need looking into.

Over one year they still take my money but wont take my calls or send me a draft. i wish i had read the reviews. They came recommended by my insurance broker.

Absolutely shockjng have not received my will and the company still continues to take money out of my bank for over a year

Where to begin….
After being recommended Atheno by my life insurance company as a great option to update my will with monthly payments making it more affordable, and bringing everything in line with my other services.
It’s started well, Darren – their will writer was on time, personable and great to deal with. Unfortunately it quickly went downhill from that point. Darren arranges for the direct debt to be setup in February, and the first payment was taken successfully – with a draft of my will due by the end of February.
Almost 3 months after, they have taken a single payment, have not sent any drafts and despite repeated calls and emails – repeated promiemes of callbacks and drafts never delivered despite constant chasing. By this point I had lost all faith in this company to provide anything tangible.
At this point, I expressed my unhappiness with their performance and my unwillingness to give them further chances to deliver – and this is when Scott – the owner of the company comes into play.
Scott does not only not respond to emails or phone calls, he finds anyone trying to get the product or a refund of it – threatening, and during his one and only email to me – cc’ing in their “legal team” – PM Legal Inc – a legal firm from South Africa that isn’t licenced to practice in the UK.
I’m still battling to get my payments back from Atheno – and warn everybody against dealing with this sham of an organisation
AVOID AT ALL COSTS

Came up with the scheme that suited me personally and lifted my feelings on my own future with details in place for questions I had about organising what I leave behind,very straightforward thank goodness.

Atheno offer a "Return Policy: 14 day cooling off period" but they refused to return our £400 deposit when we decided to pull out within that time. Full of excuses.

Company called me repeatedly, harassing me due to my 1star review that I literally left 2 days ago! I had to block their number!

Terrible company. Sold my mother their services based on their experience in making sure documentation was correct before filing. Submitted documents with errors and then blamed us.

I would recommend them to anyone good service

My experience was made great because the staff knows how to approach customers and explain to them the way they would understand about how safe them and there loved ones would be, when they take up a policy.
The company is doing well by making us customers to have piece of mind when we take up the policy and when we also pass away.

Mr Darren Abbott made me feel very relaxed giving guidance where needed and documenting my instructions as specified.
I now feel more settled knowing my affairs and wishes at end of life are documented in my updated last will and testament

The people i was talking today with are so lovely nice kind walk me through everything that i wanted i do this for my kids because i want them have something in life longs they are looked after am happy father i do everything for my kids I don’t ask for anything back because you do that has parent

Total time wasters. Left many messages, no response, cut you off. Ask for information and no one can give you the truth. Tell lies. It’s a total scam. Beware. Quick enough in taking your money but when it comes to returning, that’s a different story. I was told I would be refunded whole amount, then told it would be in bank account by next morning!! I had half returned and it took a month to show on my account. Bloody sham of a company. I was being told one day that money would be in my account next day, but in fact nothing had been done. It wasn’t how long it took for money to go into my account, it was all the lies about it being in the next day when in fact you couldn’t put it into my account because you asked twice for my details !!

Fantastic I didn’t feel rushed Darren was very understanding llgave you very good choices I’m so pleased that I got my choice made now I been made to fell at ease
