Very good tools but too high a price
Astute Graphics plugins and tools are very good and their functions make up for many of the shortcomings and clumsiness that Adobe Illustrator has.
The main problem is the price since it represents a cost of almost half of the program itself that it complements, or a fifth of the price of the entire Adobe package, not just Illustrator.
In addition, now with the appearance of Affinity and its progressive implementation of increasingly better features, it is beginning to become a very powerful alternative to Adobe, and with a much more interesting price.
For example, in my case I am getting closer and closer to definitively doing without Adobe, and consequently, Astute Graphics.

Very handy
This'll be my second year using the plugins. They're genuinely helpful for day to day artwork and I find myself trying various effects that I wouldn't normally use but they're convenient and easy to use.

Adds turbo power to Illustrator
The Astute tools are nothing short of miraculous. The added power brought to Illustrator is very helpful. They are integrated fully into Illustrator. I have only put a handful of the tools to use so far. The only thing is it's sometimes hard to remember what tools does what and where to find them. Love Astute Graphics!

It doesn't work on my present Mac configuration
Maybe some other program is blocking Astute Manager, but cannot get it to run, therefore relying on my old plugins, awaiting help from Astute.
Follow up - Astute tried hard to find a solution, for which I am grateful, but in light of not being able to fix the issue, they have repaid the purchase price without any fuss. Well done Astute

We're sorry that you were unable to use your plugins. Your case was a very unusual one that we have encountered only once before with another customer whose plugins were blocked by an external app.
Although the technical team tried their very hardest they were unable to resolve this issue and so a refund was necessary. You should receive the refund receipt shortly. Please do reach out to our team if you require any further assistance.
Works 30% of the time
Most of the time I go to use one of these plugins they don't work. I need to update the license or manage something before they'll let me use what I paid for. I originally purchased the plugins I needed years ago then they forced me onto this subscription plan. I wish I could recommend these plugins but I 100% cannot. Right now it won't let me use the plugins telling me I have to manually remove old versions. I did that and it still tells me I have to remove old plugins that do not exist. There is no support I can reach.

We're sorry to read that you have experienced multiple issues with your plugins. It's correct that when a major update is released our customers will be required to install the update, but smaller updates do not require update installation as mandatory for use.
We do appreciate that new business structures can be frustrating for those who have purchased at other times however, we know that we unfortunately cannot please everyone. We have tried to be as fair as possible and whilst previously a full set of 16 of our plugins was priced at almost $600 USD, we have priced our subscription to be the cost equivalent of what would once have bought 2 or 3 plugins.
Although in this instance, our support team responded to both of your emails within 2 hours, we do request that our customers allow up to 2 working days at the very longest for a response. This is due to us being a UK based company operating Monday - Friday 10am - 4:30pm GMT. If contacting us outside of these times, customers may sometimes find that there is a delay in reply. We hope that the advice provided resolved your issue, please do reach out to our team should you require any further help.
