Astotel Arvostelua 

We booked a stay here and asked if we could modify our dates and we were told no. And we could not cancel or modify but they will keep our $900. They will not help in any way but keep our money.

Je suis extrêmement déçu par mon expérience avec l’hôtel 34B Astotel. Malgré une demande de report effectuée plus de 48 heures à l’avance, la direction a refusé catégoriquement toute solution, ni remboursement ni avoir. Une rigidité incompréhensible et un manque total de sens commercial.
Le plus choquant reste que la chambre a ensuite été relouée à un autre client, ce qui signifie que l’hôtel a encaissé deux fois pour la même nuit. Cette pratique donne une impression très négative et soulève de sérieuses questions sur leur éthique.
Un établissement qui privilégie clairement le profit au détriment de la relation client. Je déconseille fortement.

Hotel 34B, Paris

Our second floor room faced the street and was VERY NOISY IN THE EARLY HOURS OF THE MORNING, from motorbikes revving to irate drivers and singing drunks.

After a second night of broken sleep we thought about changing rooms. We didn't do it because it meant all the hassle of packing but in hindsight this was a mistake.

Yes, I know there will always be noise by a busy intersection in Paris but the sheer level of it was outrageous.

And as a bonus the hotel’s metal staircase ran along the back wall of our room, and when people came down it the bed literally shook!

It's a real shame because the hotel was keenly priced with pleasant staff and a nice vibe. But peace and quiet in your room in the early hours is a must.

We spent three nights at the Joke Hotel, basing our selection on the fine reviews (on competing sites) but also fearing that they were exaggerated. They weren't. The rooms are great (we stayed at the 4th floor), as is the cleanliness and the standard of equipment, e.g. number of electric outlets and bathroom accessories. We have only minor complaints (no inside bathroom light switch, the office lamp could only be controlled from one side of the bed), and the staff was exceptionally kind and helpful.

The style is a little tongue-in-cheek, but our teenage boy loved the sketches playing on the elevator monitors, and we did actually try the wheel of fortune placed over the master bed. The free soft drink mini-bar is a nice touch, and we availed ourselves to the hotel chain "drop in for free soft drinks at other participating hotels" a single time.

Again, I cannot stress enough the kind and helpful staff which made us definitely want to come back.

The breakfast is fine without reaching excellent, but all the basic stuff is there. And, of course, with helpful service.

One final observation is that the staff gave us two rooms connected by a shared entrance area, and with keys working all doors. That was extremely convenient and really minimized the risk of locking ourselves out of our rooms.

Vi tilbragte tre nætter på Hôtel Joke, baseret på de fine anmeldelser (på konkurrerende review-sites). Vi var nervøse for, at de var overdrevne - det var de ikke. Værelserne er gode (vi boede på 4. etage), ligesom renligheden og standarden af udstyr, f. eks. antal stikkontakter og toiletartikler. Vi har kun småklager (ingen lyskontakt inde i badeværelset, kontorlampen/sengelampen kunne kun styres fra den ene side af sengen), og personalet var yderst venlige og hjælpsomme.

Stilen er noget pudsig, men vores teenage-dreng var meget begejstret for, at elevatorer og gange er forsynet med monitorer, som afspiller "skjult kamera"-sketches, og vi afprøvede rent faktisk lykkehjulet placeret over dobbeltsengen. Den fri (ikke-alkoholiske) minibar er en fin detalje, og en enkelt gang gjorde vi brug af tilbudet om at få en gratis sodavand/te/kaffe, som gælder hos andre hoteller i samme kæde.

Med fare for at gentage mig selv vil jeg gerne pointere, at personalet var virkelig søde og hjælpsomme - vi har helt sikkert lyst til at besøge stedet igen.

Morgenmaden er udmærket uden decideret at være sublim, men alle de basale ting er der. Og selvfølgelig med hjælpsom betjening.

En sidste bemærkning er, at personalet gav os to sammenhængende værelser med fælles entre, og med nøgler som virkede i alle døre. Det var vældig bekvemt og minimerede risikoen for at låse os ud af værelserne.
