I did not receive the item

I did not receive the item. Their Royal Mail tracking link did not update beyond the day it was out for delivery. When I told Ashcroft 3 days later I had not received the parcel and the link information was out of date they said “you will have to chase this up with Royal Mail” nothing more, no sorry, no offer of replacement or offer to rectify the problem. Am I now to accept the loss on their behalf? You can’t just not receive something and not be refunded, surely?
