Absolutely appalling when it comes to returning deposits, over critical checks not taking into account wear and tear etc. I would highly recommend avoiding unless your happy to be contesting money your rightfully owned. Zero stars would be the best I’d award this company

This is a warning to anyone who goes with Assend living, don’t do it . It’s impossible to get your full deposit back , they take weeks to get it assessed then give you a massive bill . They have no intention of giving you the deposit back at all . It’s a joke and disgusting how they treat their tenants. I even arranged a pre check to come and look at my property and they didn’t even bother turning up to it and then gave me a bill , which was 85% of my deposit absolute scam . Tell you what you want to hear and drag there feet giving you any money back . Been 3 weeks now and I had to chase them , got the bill yesterday and now I have to make a complaint to someone else which will take another few weeks . Just a disgrace how they operate, anyone leaving Assend god help you . Boycot this company

We had the pleasure of dealing with Rev, who was a star throughout the whole initial process, answered all our questions swiftly and made sure that we were happy and comfortable with the whole process.

Really not happy about the service what so ever, I was originally speaking with will who showed us a 4 Bedroom house that was available and we were first in line to have it. (Still Available Now)

We still want this house and it would be a dream come true.

However I called up today and got through to an Emma who was so rude. She said that she would send over the documents to get the application sorted and then put down the holding fee.

Now we filled out the documents and then we had a phone call…

In this phone call she stated that “well I’m the only one working as I am not lucky enough to have three days off” (ok I didn’t ask?) then proceeded to tell us there is no point going for this house as I would fail to do so with my credit just because I had a DMP.

I disagree with this so much, I spoke to citizens advice and they stated they can’t do that. They should check references, Guarantors and our income. Now even though “Emma” said this I also deep searched mine and my partners credit files and like I already told her we have no CCJ’s, No IVA or anything like that.

She refused to then work with us and began with I’ll talk to management tomorrow and see what we can do, I then said what if I wiped all of the issues and paid of all creditors now and proved it and then she said “No Point as we wouldn’t be able to see that and see if it’s legit”.

Now no offence I understand that rules have changed as of 1st of may but I have legal teams telling me this was potent managed especially when I said my guarantor makes £170k a year her words were “lucky for some.”

That’s so inappropriate and not needed especially after telling my partner and I that there is no point going for our dream home.

Anyways the honest review is that it was poor customer service and we got shut down with no help what so ever, I even explained that we are going through a tough time with two SEN kids and my partner fighting her ex husband in court with the kids let alone the reason we have to move is cause our private landlord is kicking us out all just to be met with “well I’m sorry but there’s no point and nothing we can do”.

Sorry but legal companies are telling me different.

I will be calling tomorrow to talk to management myself to sort this and to put in a complaint.

Dealing with Rev made the whole rental process an absolute breeze. She lined up a bunch of properties that met with our needs and preferences saving both, myself and my partner, time that would’ve been wasted endlessly scrolling ads.. She hit the nail on the head with the final house we viewed and paired with being a charismatic person, she is the reason as to why we went with Ascend!

Even after moving in, she gave a quick check in to see if the everything is going well!

If you’re browsing with Ascend, I’d strongly recommend asking for Rev!

Terrible deposit response time. Had to pay for a notary to sign a statutory declaration. They took over the time they had to respond to sorting out the deposit. I initially disagreed with the deductions but they said they would let the deposit service handle it and no response since. I chased them up when I decided I didn't want the hassle of going through the dispute process which they where counting on. I would warn people to stay away from them as they will try there best to take all of your money but tell you before hand that "I think you have a good chance of getting all of your deposit back".

Will Kent, is absolutely fantastic, as helped me so much with my application and still continuing to help me even with it going to the reference team, helping with any questions I have.

We are due to move into our ascend property in the next few weeks. So far so good! Elliot has helped me and my partner all the way through and answered all of our questions and guided us through the process with ease. 5/5 ⭐ 😊

went to view a house and contact will kent via email. while emsiling him he stated that he couldnt find my name on the system. he then said he had spoken to his manager who is happy to go ahead with the application, then the next day after numerous emails of him asking many questions regarding my credit file, he then said i would need a guarantor, but then i said i shouldn't do as i dont have any ccjs ect. he then said that i need to view the house again but could not do the viewing for over a week later. it honestly seemed like he just could not be bothered to but my application in. what a failure to a company.

Had a small issue with one of our appliances - nothing was too much trouble for Ashton, she arranged for someone to have a look straight away and chased to get it sorted promptly without us messaging her. Confident we're in safe hands and she always goes the extra mile.

I'm disabled and on section 8 back in January when I tried pay my rent the app I have to use to pay my rent on wouldn't allow I tried to reach them by phone text and email and no one would ever answer me back this went on for like 2 months then 3 days ago I get a note on my door telling me I have 4 days to get out I'm confined to my bed and if I get out anywhere it's in a wheelchair and I have no where to go

Olivia really made our experience stress free from the beginning. She was really friendly during the initial viewing and then throughout the whole application process. We viewed the property and was in within two weeks. Straight forward and as mentioned stress free which is what you want when moving! Thanks

We can’t thank Ashton enough for everything she’s done to help us get settled into our new-build property. From the very beginning, she has been incredibly supportive, organised, and proactive. Any issues we raised were addressed promptly and professionally, which made the entire process so much smoother and far less stressful.

Her communication has been excellent, and it’s clear she genuinely cares about making sure everything is handled properly. Moving into a new build can be overwhelming at times, but Ashton’s dedication and willingness to go the extra mile made all the difference.

Still waiting after 5 weeks for someone to come out to sort electrics out. We have reported this so many times followed the correct procedure, promised someone would be in contact. Said it had been through as an emergency. ?!

Electrics keep tripping. The dishwasher works then stops half way through. The cooker, lights, boiler, fridge/freezer and lights and sockets in the back 2 bedrooms are also connected to the circuit??

This is a family household and with the cost of rent the service isn't acceptable!
