FIDE Online Arena Arvostelua

1. First they took longer than usual to activate my account after I had made payments. I had to email them several times and nag them

2. They're mobile app was atrocious. It had to be pulled from the google playstore. Clearly a terrible Job and a scam.

3. They took over a month to give me a certificate I had purchased. Again I had to constantly send them emails to get a digital certificate.

4. They automatically take your money after a year subscription. This should not be allowed and should be made illegal. People should always be forced to make a manual subscription after an expiry period. It shows how money hungry and illegitimate this company is!

5. People cheat on this platform all the time. Various online confessions are out there of people trying out their cheating algorithms. They dont work at all!

6. The website is of terrible quality going back since 2019. Absolutely horrendous. The pool of players is so small that making AGM is almost impossible even if your rating on chess.com and lichess is over 2400. Also chess.com and lichess have superior cheat detection algorithms.

7. The user interface and app was worse than free chess servers that are not even famous and make less profit.

8. Their only legitimacy is their ties with FIDE. But I honestly suspect something fraudulent about this company and it's ties with fide. I think high ranking fide officials are using this pathetic sites to line their pockets. Absolutely gross and corrupt.

9. I think users on here need to start speaking out more and going to press. This also needs to be investigated.

I am sorry to say that this site doesn’t give a good experience. I am an AIM but that was on the old site which was much better with a better interface and much more players. Your rating will drop to unrealistic lows. This was mentioned before. I hope this will improve in the future. For now it is what it is.

I'm an Arena FIDE Master (FIDE Blitz rating 1495), but on the 'new' FIDE Online Arena website my rating dropped to 1100 and even this low level is hard to maintain there. On Lichess my rating is between 1900 and 2000 and on Chess com it's between 1500 and 1600 (which is also a bit strange :-)) The only way to compete on FIDE Online Arena is by using a chess engine, but that's simply not me, so I will just not renew my subscription with them.

I noticed while playing on FOA that a lot of features were missing for an important chess website, so I’m giving my feedback hoping you can resolve these issues.

1. Highlighting Squares and arrows helps players a lot.

2. Viewing previously played games is problematic.
Especially when I played in a tournament and it says "__ games in the archive" in the profile, but where is the game archive? When I click on the "__ games in the archive" button, it takes me to the tournament page with the final standings(__ is just a number of games played in the tournament).

3. Evaluation bar is broken in the analysis board.

4. Allow players to edit the game to analyze their game, because I am only able to view the game, but not to edit it. Also provide online engine to analyze with as an extra option, preferably a strong Stockfish.

5. Only allows one page to be logged on, perhaps you can restrict it for the live game board, but other than that, it gets annoying for users.

6. Rating filter doesn't work, player with lesser rating than the filtered minimum rating play with me...

7. I get some bot to play with if I didn’t get a human player when I’m seeking, please have an option to disable bots from accepting my seek because I personally do not like playing against bots.

8. There should be a waiting time before the white and black players play the first move or else abort/forfeit. Because the clock starts instantly at the start, so players lose would lose a couple of seconds which would be significant in bullet or blitz.

9. Add more extra options for customization like speed/animation of the pieces while playing(slow, medium or fast, not everyone would like the default speed) color of board, pieces styles for aesthetic purpose, the choice is very limited in FOA.

Giving 3 stars because FOA gives tittles for playing good online chess, but please improve/add the features mentioned above to make the €25 worth it for the users who wish to play in FOA, because I'm sure many chess players will trust FOA because it is connected to FIDE.

I had a membership and I cancelled within a week due to some technical reasons, it's been a month and they haven't refunded my membership money, I advice this is a fraudulent website please don't subscribe or sign-up to any premium membership services.

Very poor experience. I paid 25 Eur for the very limited functionality and interface. I don't understand why is it difficult to at least replicate the functionality of lichess in terms of boards and pieces selection, pre-move options, arrows etc. It is definitely a good idea?but please improve on the above mentioned points.

-It takes an eternity to get an opponent
-interface is pretty bad and lacking a lot of things (like premoves or different styles of pieces etc)
-The clock seems to stuck at times and is not at all accurate which makes bullet and blitz unplayable
-There are a lot of cheaters who rarely get caught probably.
-On top of everything you pay 25 euros for this.

Worst chess experience ever unfortunately...

C est de la fumisterie ils vous déconnecte pendant le tournois. J ai payé pour rien c est pourri

Hello Chess fiends,
Could someone provide feedback on the Fide Online Arena site. I thought this is hosted by FIDE. However while reviewing the site it is built very poorly. Is this a good site to improve Chess and get into FIDE rated games. Pro membership is 25 pounds per year.
Could someone help me here?

- Unfair disadvantage to unpaid users by not allowing them to have pre-removes enabled.

- Lack of players Because a 20 game limit is imposed on free users.

- imbalanced rating system for paid users vs free users
as once you subscribe your training rating becomes official rating and that rating only goes up if you play paying users
So basically if you pay too early before your training rating goes up Good luck improving your official.

I signed up to grab a funny A-Gm title but seeing as what mess it is you'd have better luck studying and getting a real title.
