Andante Travels Arvostelua 

Its easy and efficient to book the trip but
- when trying to arrange extra nights or transfers there is no response to emails. Once you do get to talk to someone it can take ages for them to get back to you eg with the price for an extra night ( I have been waiting 5 days)
- there are often changes to the itinerary advertise on the Web-page eg Day 1 of my trip say "meet the group at the hotel & have dinner" but it turns out that the group flight arrives at 21:55.

I spoke to Sarah Kennedy. She was very friendly and helpful which persuaded me to book another trip as well.

Helpful and friendly staff. Very well informed and knowledgeable. I was told that someone would ring me back after a few days if I had decided that an offer was suitable and this happened just as promised. I remember this as it is something often forgotten.

Everything was very well organized

Laura was very well organised, cheerful throughout and very helpful. Val also was very knowledgeable and it was good to speak to someone so involved in the history etc.One criticism I have is that the evening lecture was not easy to hear as we were distracted by noise from the kitchen and poor acoustics in the assembly room.
It was also very expensive to travel from Sumburgh to Brae and back, it’s a pity we couldn’t stay in Lerwick.

Our latest Andante trip was extremely interesting with a very careful manager, Rita, and a well prepared lecturer, Brian. As usual we spent too much time eating and not enough visiting sites. The start of the tour was poorly organised in that we had to spend extra hours in the coach going over the same terrain.
Only one hour in Hedeby, an important site, whereas a whole morning at the Vasamuseet, a non-Viking site . Completely unbalanced.

The person with whom I spoke on the phone did a splendid and very prompt job in getting me a single room which initially seemed to be unavailable.

Very well guided and managed tour with an excellent range of places visited though the stop at Alnwick was over long and less interesting.
Accommodation and meals were fine particularly in Durham.
Office support was very good and the tour leader and tour manager could not be bettered.

Harry was helpful and friendly. The booking process was easy.

Well organised. Good food. Accommodation could have been better, no air con in rooms and rather small rooms. Expensive holiday for what was offered.

Three things made this a great trip
1. Bologna and environs.
2. A great tour director and tour guide.
3. A sensational group of fellow travelers.

Very well run tour, including some amazing neolithic sites. This tools managed by very competent tour leader, and an extremely knowledgeable archaeologist.

Good telephone manner, rang back when they said they would, website easy to navigate

I am in my 80s and use two walking poles to take the strain away from my arthritic knees and hips. I felt that the tour manager and guest lecturer really cared about my physical welfare and were willing to point out walks and climbs that they thought I might not manage. I have already paid the deposit on an Andante tour for next year as i know I will be safe and enjoy all that I learn and experience.

Fact that was no flight

Didn't visit the Crypts as someone didn't bother getting reservations on time. Spent 90 minutes in each of three museums regardless of their sizes. English speaking guides didn't bother to interpret French signs for us there. Guide almost put us on wrong way bus. We largely covered regular tourist spots. Nothing hidden about "Hidden Paris"
