Our experience at the Alta Sanctuary station was truly unparalleled—far beyond anything we could have imagined. The sheer beauty and profound connection to the untouched depths of the Amazon rainforest is indescribable. But what truly elevated our journey was the exceptional hospitality. The staff made us feel completely at home, their genuine care and dedication shining through in every detail.

We are deeply grateful to have had the opportunity to embark on this unforgettable adventure. A heartfelt thank you to Willian, Rollin, George, and the entire Alta Sanctuary team for making this trip so special.

A special thanks as well to Paul and the Junglekeepers for your incredible efforts in preserving this breathtaking natural treasure. Your work is nothing short of inspiring, and it allowed us to not only explore the rainforest but to truly appreciate its value.

I’ll admit…I was apprehensive coming to Alta because of its remoteness, inherent risks of being in the jungle, and in the logistics of getting there. However, the team made all of those worries melt almost immediately. The team is extremely professional, very attentive, and does everything possible to make sure you have a great and safe experience. Also, the experience itself is nothing short of magical. The animals, the plants, the people…everything is out of a dream and is an experience unlike anything else in the world. If I could give more than five stars I would. This is the chance of a lifetime and is something that will change your life. Thank you to the whole Alta team!

We had an action packed stay in the jungle - seeing so many different species of animals, traveling up and down the Las Piedras river at all hours; every moment there is the possibility of seeing something exhilarating, beautiful, and fascinating. The Alta Sanctuary team was so welcoming, and they will make you feel like part of a family. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

It was everything I imagined and more.
The view, the sounds, the animals, the service, the people all exceeded any sort of expectation I had set for this experience.

We stayed at the treehouse for 4 nights. We're back home now, and almost can't believe how wonderful a trip we had. Our amazing guide, Victor, picked us up for the amazing journey to Alta Sanctuary at our hotel, knowing our names. We were greeted at the sanctuary with lunch and coffee and met the staff, who all became our friends during our stay. Over the next days, Victor took us on day and night hikes and boat rides to see the most diverse flora and fauna we could imagine. From Caiman to Capybar, macaws to a snail snake. He took our 18 year old son off trail, per our son's request, and taught him some basics on machete use and navigation! There was little Victor didn't know, and less he didn't spot and point out to our wide eyes. We filled our phones with photos and videos, and will probably drive our friends crazy with them. The photos Alta Sanctuary posts from the treehouse are daily shots. They are NOT exagerated. Every morning woke up in the treehouse to watch the sun rise. The tree would fill with parakeets, to be followed by tucans! Yes - tucans. The treehouse is 110 feet off the ground, with 140 steps. We're middle aged, and in average shape, but the ascent is not for everyone. The amazon jungle is hot, and there are lots of bugs of course. We prepared well, and took the trip well aware and with appropriate expectations! The guides really seem to go great distances to help you do and see the things in which you have the most interest. We were just amazed to be there, and wanted to see everything. Another guest was really focused on fishing. Her guide took her out fishing and brought back catfish, which the chef's cooked perfectly for dinner. If you love wildlife, and adventure, this trip is the safest way to see the most amazing place on earth. We HIGHLY recommend the treehouse. It's expensive, but the creature comforts, and the sunrises above the canopy - are truly priceless.

The research station still has the very same feel as it had before it was transformed into Alta, with some minor and helpful changes such as a metal roof instead of a leaf one, and covered pathways, as well as a better supplied kitchen, and the treehouse is something you have to experience for yourself since it’s quite a hard thing to describe to other people, all the people who work there (guides, cooks, boat drivers, etc) are amazing happy people, helpful to know Spanish but a thumbs up works well too, only thing I would suggest is better mattresses since I sunk straight through them, and sorry for the long run on sentence, Im not one for writing with good grammar. Amazing experience 100/10 would do again.

My husband and I stayed at Alta Sanctuary for 5 nights and it was honestly an unforgettable experience. This was a dream holiday for me to stay in the Amazon and just experience nature for what it is and that's exactly what we did. The accommodation, food and experience was second to none. We had an amazing guide William who took us for hikes daily based on what we wanted to see and we saw some amazing animals and got to experience beautiful scenery in such an untouched area.

We are looking to come back again this time with the kids aswell as there is just so much to see. Thank you for making this an amazing experience.

Our family had an amazing 3 nights at Alta Sanctuary. In a pristine and remote location, we were welcomed to the lodge and made to feel like family. Our guide, Willian, has extensive knowledge of the region, and we learned so much from him. Our kids were engaged, excited, and welcomed by the team. We had an amazing experience here, and are so appreciative of the team that works here with Jungle Keepers, to protect this ecosystem.

This is an incredibly unique opportunity for those who want to experience luxury in the jungle. Looking down* on monkeys from the treetops was a once-in-a-lifetime experience we'll never forget. The sunrise coffee delivery was the cherry on top and the best way to start another day of exploring. We appreciated the small details like including a pair of binoculars for us to use.

Of course, it's the jungle, so you will experience bugs - I would recommend stowing your sweaty clothes inside or else you'll encounter a swarm of sweat bees the next day. Harmless bugs, just irritating when trying to enjoy the view!

My stay at Alta Sanctuary was incredible—truly the trip of a lifetime! What stood out to me was the immense passion and enthusiasm that everyone on the team has for the jungle and making sure that clients get the most out of their experience—from sunrise boat trips on the river where we spotted tapir, macaws, and capybara to waterfall hikes and night walks that ended with me holding a caiman. Our guides were a trove of information about the jungle and its wildlife and vegetation. Their ability to detect different animals and plants using sight and scent was so impressive. These are people who have lived in the jungle and are intimately familiar with it, and it shows.

The trip was a perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. The beauty of the jungle is expected, but I was equally impressed with the comfort and beauty of the station and treehouse, which I highly recommend staying in for a night or two. The treehouse is one of the most impressive and spectacular feats I've ever encountered. Not many people can say they've slept atop the canopy of the Amazon rainforest and woken up to the sounds of howler monkeys and screaming pihas as they watched the sun rise over the steaming mist of the jungle. Having coffee delivered just in time for the sunrise was an incredible touch. Also, you will eat so well on your trip! The food is ridiculously good.

My experience at Alta Sanctuary was truly life changing in the best way possible! The team provided incredible moments from top to bottom--exhilarating night walks in the jungle, incredible knowledge of the local animals and plants, and amazing food cooked fresh three times a day. I'm not even an outdoorsy person, but by the end of the trip, I was "Jungle Jim"! For anyone looking to release an inner adventurer within them, I truly can't recommend an expedition with the team at Alta Sanctuary highly enough!! Would give 10 stars if I could!

Unbeatable wildlife experience and expansive treetop views that look and feel like a dream. My husband and I are videographers and were enabled to capture a diversity of unique wildlife imagery that would have otherwise not been possible. Leaving this place behind after unimaginably beautiful sunrises and sunsets in the treehouse is the hardest part. The crew is incredibly attentive to any needs/requests. Accommodations are comfortable and luxurious, while at the same time allowing you to immerse yourself into the wild of the rainforest. This stay is one of the best choices you'll make.

If you are considering booking a trip, do it.

Absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had. First of all, the view from the treehouse is breathtaking, and the fact it’s outfitted with electricity, running water, and WiFi is crazy. On top of that, the week I spent with the Junglekeepers team was life changing. Getting to explore the Amazon up close with such knowledgeable and experienced guides was truly a transformative experience.

The most amazing experience i have ever had. The team is extremely helpful and in good spirits. If you love nature and like to get your hands dirty but also want a little luxury this is the place to go.

The location was spectacular! Clean and as advertised. The staff was friendly and helpful always making sure you were comfortable and taken care of. If you've always wanted to experience a treehouse don't look anywhere else!
