I was being charged $104 for the…

I was being charged $104 for the initial loan payment on a trip that was canceled through Expedia. I canceled my Expedia trip less than 3 hours after booking and received confirmation emails from Expedia for ALL trip-related cancellations. Apparently, Expedia does NOT communicate this readily enough to Affirm, so Affirm still sends a charge for the $104 up front payment. I went through their website to dispute the charge. VERY inconvenient process, which resulted the website returning an error. After resubmitting again, the dispute went through. They still say I'm liable for $3 which is bull**** since they loaned NOTHING. I will NEVER again book through Expedia or use Affirm.

Read the reviews and stay away!!!

So I've been using Affirm now for a few years without any issues. Usually Ill use it for smaller purchases ($500 or less) instead of putting the cash out, however I did make a $2800 purchase using them and it was great, no issues.. making payments was easy thru the app and they gave me a credit line $11000 then increased it to a little over $20,000. I have ZERO late payments and I currently have a balance of $160. I just went to buy something and was denied due to poor credit and payment history with THEM.... You've got to be kidding me? Good luck talking to a person cause all they have is AI nonsense. I finally got a person on the phone, they have no friggin clue whats going on there and to be perfectly honest.. it sounds like it might be a scam now. The reason they gave me was because I have a payment pending (that was made over a week ago, supposedly it hasn't cleared yet)... however I still have a credit line in the tens of thousands of dollars... and they are telling me sorry, cant buy anything until the payment clears. No thank you, I'm all set i told her, I said ill pay the balance as soon as I hang up and then cancel this bullshit scam of a company. I just started reading other reviews and apparently this is a daily occurrence with them... denying customers with great credit and great payment history, Im all set with this . You've been warned, read the reviews ... this place caters to people with trashed credit cause they get to absolutely rob you with ridiculous criminal like finance rates, they dont make shit off good credit. I should really thank them.... for getting me to open my eyes!!!! Closing account in 3....2....1....

$1,999.93 charged, purchase canceled, no real support

I had one of the most frustrating experiences with this service. I was charged $1,999.93 for a flight, but the purchase was canceled immediately afterward. The root cause was a technical issue on their side my date of birth was missing in their system, even though the website does not allow you to proceed without entering it.
I spent three hours with customer service, was transferred to a manager, and even provided my driver’s license, yet nothing was resolved. I urgently needed the ticket, but they ignored my situation and simply told me to wait 3–10 business days for a refund.
This level of service is unacceptable. Users deserve a reliable system and responsive support.

What a ride (with reply)

What a ride, I have been with them near a year now and its been a lot of up but when they want to hit you down, they mean it. I started out with a 3500$ purchasing power, which in the first month dropped to 200$ for reasons they could only say "they change it based on many factors" and the only thing I had was an AC. Since then the same thing has happened, and whats worse is the emails telling you you have more purchasing power than you actually have. Most recently, all of my purchasing power vanished and when I inquired their great support (sarcasm) was so hopeful that they could not tell me why and the website said come back in two weeks and even still I was receiving emails stating I had purchasing power. They may not be bad for one or two purchases for Pay Over Time, but they are far from consistent.

Reply to Affirm: Interest rate is always the same unless you chose a different length of the loan, and I used the virtual card as your wonderful system would reject my info if I entered it at different stores, to which was on Amazon, Home Depot and Walmart. Thank you for the reply that is not relevant to my review.

Crap on affirm

Crap on affirm. I ordered a leather jacket from James leather for 300. Got the jacket and it was some kind of plastic. Reached out to affirm. I returned the fake leather jacket. James leather said no refund because fake leather jacket was on sale. A damn lie. Affirm sides with James leather. I’m out 300 so. SCREW AFFIRM. NEVER USE THEM AGAIN

What Jerk Company

I have a company that I constantly buy shirts from. I made a purchase, $45, and always paid in full. My order came back with my purchase to make 2 payments, equaling what my one payment to the shirt company would have been.
The company I buy shirts from said they had no idea who this company was who stepped in to my order. Now I have 2 payments of $22.50 to make to Affirm.
I made those 2 payments.
From now on when I buy my shirts I calling the company I buy from and make the purchase. Affirm sucks to no end.

Unresponsive , unempowered customer service. A bit of an oxymoron...as there is no service.

Charged me for a bad product . Attempted to resolve with vendor. Vendor disappeared and Affirm charged me fully and denied my disputes.

Use other firms like Klarna that care about the vendors they work with.

What started out as a great thing…

What started out as a great thing turned fast. I was penalized for paying my bill ahead of schedule, my account was in good standing last time I used their services, Now when I attempt to use them to make payments for an more costly item i’m getting denied. Me being ahead of schedule with payments is a bad thing?

Affirm allowed hundreds of dollars to be charged to Uber Eats in a different state

Affirm has removed nearly 1,000 from my bank account for fraudulent charged to uber /uber eats.a fraudulent contract I did not approve .Apple pay confirmed my account was NOT used .Uber confirmed my phone number was not used.Hundreds was charged to my account while I was at an event in the woods with limited cell service have photos/witnessed.Who orders hundreds in food in a different state???I am vegan .I am a 100% disabled veteran/firemedic who now has NO money for food, gas , my morgage etc...I have been up all night for two nights filling federal complaints, complaints with Visa, BBB, uber.A phone was attached to my account from a different State . I just spoke to Affirm again. They do not care. They want to keep taking money out of my account. They don't care if I live or die they don't care what happens to me. They don't care this was fraud. They don't care. I was a victim of a major crime before and a protection program I've written their CEO they don't care about me at all . They want to ruin my credit. They wanna ruin my life. They don't care about anybody but themselves that's all they care about. I wrote their ceo he didn't respond. He doesn't care anything about his customers. He cares about being rich. I don't know how much money he needs. He just wants the blood of his customers on his hands.

in the past, I highly recommended this company to many people they used to really care but now it seems all they care about is lining their pockets with money. They don't care about their customers that their victims of fraud if they can eat or not, they should've noticed this was Fraud. Any banquet would've noticed. Complaints have been filed with the federal government with Visa with the Better Business Bureau with Uber. I've had to change all my IDs emails. I already had flags on my credit bureau reports now I have to go change my bank account way to go Affirm you should be real proud that I can't buy any food. Any gas it's 20° and my doctor says if I continue at this rate I could actually die but do you care? No, you do not care even though I paid all my loans well in advance ahead of time and paid extra money you have gotten greedy and just care about lining your pockets I've written your CEO your corporate people they haven't responded eventually karma will come bite you because when you treat people like this, it will come get you. You'll probably get to destroy my credit, etc.. I will be writing all credit bureaus to tell them what happened to me. I have police report so I'm gonna contact the FBI as well. You should look in the mirror. I would hope that people don't treat you as badly as you have treated me, have a blessed day. Excuse any errors I have had no sleep in two days because of this fraud.

Stay FAR away!!

Had a few thousand in purchase power for the past couple of years. I have had an impeccable payment history with them and every single creditor I have had. I am NEVER ever late with any creditor no matter who it is...I always pay on time and even early. All of a sudden I went into the app to pay like I do every single Friday and I noticed have zero purchase power. My credit score has not gone down, it has in fact gone up since I started using Affirm in 2023/2024. My yearly wage earnings have also increased.... I have ALWAYS paid early and on time. Everything positive with everyone. Now I am punished and have no purchase power. I was told "I'm so sorry for the inconvenience caused but we have to proceeds with the decisions.". Bad decisions made on a faithful customer for the past few years with a perfect payment record. I will be finishing paying off what I have and never using this junk company again. Absolutely reprehensible to treat a faithful customer like trash. As I told your representative, it wasn't a purchase that got denied. I wasn't even trying to purchase anything, but all of a sudden, my purchase power went to zero from a good few thousand. I will not be trying again.

so i could not reach who i suspect is…

so i could not reach who i suspect is the scam company sellling defective products, when the item received, no packing slip, no return form, but i used affirm. when i tried to talk to affirm, i got transfer 4x. to a so called specilist, when i reached her, she said she was having technical difficulties and hung up on me. i will never use affirm again, ever !

Account management & Security verification ridiculously inefficient

Security incompetence & ridiculously inefficient, cant login with password like any true secure system, must use phone number, update phone number or email (most basic simple account management) requires calling support to re-do complete verification with single-use link, have to re-upload ID card & selfie(must do on mobile , live pictures, cannot be done on computer) then takes 7-10 days to process/confirm phone number update ... EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS PROCESS IS WRONG & UNACCEPTABLE , AVOID IF YOU CAN
Update : after they reply to this review I did contact them to see if they could help and pointed multiples issues but got not replies, seems they are satisfied perpetuating mediocrity...

Affirm is a scam first I had my account hacked!!!! They closed my virtual card called the representative was no help even told me I closed my account after telling her there was an expected fraud on my Affirm account. Then my email and phone number was changed and now I can’t get into it and there’s no help. Update # called back to affirm still no help they’re customer service support is useless!!!!!!!!

Locked out of account after verifying myself multiple times

I am extremely frustrated with my ongoing experience and the lack of consistency, communication, and resolution on my account.

In 2024, my Shop Pay account was hacked, which caused my Affirm account to be locked. Throughout fall 2024, I went through multiple failed attempts to verify my identity by uploading my face and driver’s license. Each time, I was told to email support, only to be sent back into the same upload loop with no resolution.

After stating I was going to escalate my situation with another involvement, that is when my account suddenly began working again—without any confirmation email or explanation from Affirm. I was then able to successfully make purchases throughout 2025 and into 2026 with no issues, which clearly indicated my account had been unlocked and my identity verified.

Recently, after using a one-time card for tickets and a hotel (which were refunded and the card canceled), I spoke with five different customer service agents, none of whom mentioned my account being locked. Only after directly questioning the fifth agent on 1/15/26 was I told my account was locked due to an issue from 2024. This made no sense, as I had been actively using my account for over a year.

Immediately after that call, I received another request to upload my face and driver’s license yet again. On 1/20/26, I was told my photos were received and that I only needed to call to confirm details—only for that call to once again turn into a demand to re-upload my identity documents.

I then spent over an hour on the phone with a supervisor with no resolution. During that call, the supervisor contradicted earlier statements and said my account had been unlocked previously in 2024 because Affirm had already confirmed my identity. If that is true, there is no clear explanation for why my account has now been locked again for the same issue.

I am now unable to access my billing statements or manage payments, despite having active payment arrangements and auto-pay set up. I was never notified at any point in 2025 or 2026 that my account was supposedly still locked—because it clearly was not.

I have been a customer over 5 years and never missed a payment and remained a loyal customer even after the significant issues in 2024. Reopening a closed case years later without notice, locking me out of my own account, and providing conflicting explanations is unacceptable.

When I speak with supervisors, I am informed that they cannot provide additional information because my account is locked and my identity cannot be verified. At the same time, I am told that I can continue making payments on my loan. This is unclear, as payments are still being accepted while my identity is stated as unverified.

I also received an email stating that, based on the information I provided (including my face scan, driver’s license, date of birth, and other details), my identity could not be verified and that verification attempts were unsuccessful. The email instructed me to use a different form of payment.

This situation has caused unnecessary stress and disruption, and it appears to be the result of internal errors and poor communication. Being a customer for 5 years who has never missed a payment. I am still waiting for proper access and a real resolution.
