We went to Cyprus twice and both times we booked our car there. Second time around we even recommended it to some friends because we were absolutely happy with the service. When we picked up the cars were told to take pictures of all the scratches the it had (like last time) - which were many as expected with cheap rental cars - but didn’t bother us as it doesn’t affect how the car drives. We were told to never go off-road, which we didn’t. Then we were asked to put our address, so they knew which part of Cyprus we were staying in and went our merry way.
After returning the cars this time, a lady mentioned a new scratch at the bottom front of our friends car. She asked if they had pictures of the car before, and of course we took some. But as it is ON THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR this part could not be seen in the original photos. She then said we have to pay 230€ for the damage. We said that this is ridiculous, as we did not scratch the car, and they should have told us to even take pictures OF THE BOTTOM OF THE CAR. She furthermore said something along the lines of “ah I see you stayed in Polis, the roads there are not good”. No mention of this when we filled out where we stayed upon pick up. We then asked to speak the owner/manager who REFUSED to talk to us. As we had flights to catch we had no other option than to pay the 230€.
We come to Cyprus every year but I will never ever rent with this company again, and neither should you!! There are so many better ones!! Please keep your money!
Side Note: Not quite sure what they do with the money they take from people for scratches as NONE of the cars are without scratches, so it’s definitely not to fix them!
Manners over everything
Overall the car was good, the renting process was quick and easy, and the emergency call was helpful.
HOWEVER: The night I rented the car (11/7 1 am) the airport shuttle driver Andreas was rude, unhelpful and belittling. I think the boss should tell him that he could come a long way with good manners!
The day I returned the car (15/7 8 pm) a bald man with a long beard and a British accent saw my blue badge (disabled parking card), and apparently thought it would be alright to question whether I was truly disabled or not, because there was “physically nothing wrong with me” (his words). This isn’t right, and no one should experience that kind of bad behavior.

I rented a car from them. First off, the car was old (91K km), dirty and looked like crap. It wasn't the class of car I ordered.
The people in the next lane had the door handle come off in their hands!
I left and about 20 minutes out I started hearing a beep every 30 seconds. I realized a warning light with a car battery kept flashing.
I was going to return the car for a replacement the next day and in the morning the battery was dead. I told them to come get the car and I'm cancelling and requested a full refund. I told them I didn't want another of their lousy cars. They charged me anyway and refused my refund request.
Horrible company. Don't make the same mistake I did!
UPDATE: Let me add that when I disputed the charge with my credit card company they lied and told them the car was in good working order. Liars and thief's. Never, ever, ever rent with these people. EVER!

This company rents broken cars.
This company offers good rates but provides broken cars. In last two months I rented cars from them twice. First time it was a Subaru XV with empty battery or charge problem. Second time I got a Honda Fit with cooling water leaking.
The rent old cars. The replacement car we got was 2018 with 98,ooo km that sounded like a tractor.
I will not rent a car from them again.

After 24h engine broke down. Not even discounted gas for the problem and time we wasted. Very bad attitude and unprofessional. Is the only provider 10 minutes from airport and picked was on delay at arrival
Loose car parts (paphos airport)
They are scammers. A loose part of the car wing mirror covering randomly fell off into the road as we were driving. The lady who served us said we would need to pay an additional €120 for this. Once we told them we had already paid for full insurance so we would not need to pay anything else, she was visibly annoyed and tried to say because we hadn’t reported this to them prior to bringing back the car we would need to pay extra (clutching at straws here), in the end this was irrelevant. I also note another customer mentions something similar a month ago…
WAS IT A SCAM?
We rented a car from their Paphos airport branch. The online booking and pick up at airport was OK and getting the car was quick and easy too. But BE WARNED! Take a video or lots of photos of the car. When we took it back, the guy checking went straight to a small scrath under the front and tried to tell us we had done it. It was like he knew to go and look right there immediately. He called another guy over and he also tried to say it was a new dent. Its horrible feeling as you stand there waiting for their decision. They take €1,000 euros from you as a deposit too. I really thought i was not getting my €1,000 back. Do yourself a favour and TAKE A VIDEO OF THE ENTIRE CAR BEFORE YOU LEAVE FOR EVIDENCE.
Aercar Rentals is a scammer
I booked a car for 5 days with full insurance coverage which is 75 euro there were few dents and scratch but we ignored due to full insurance policy but they demanded 800 euro for not contacting SOS number to inform the scratches. We had no choice to pay due to our flight and their shuttle service and the people in the office are like judge of the court and very disrespectful

Watch out for loose parts that fall off unnoticed at Pathos Aercar. 140 euros charged for a piece of plastic that had fallen off the underpart of a wing mirror (despite having bought full cover with them) because I couldn't ring immediately due to supporting my Dad who has stage 4 cancer. They were however informed before drop off. Upon pick up of the car we we're told it's too dark for us to check the car over but to not worry as it's all on the sheet yet on drop off they did a thorough check with a bright lamp in the dark. Scam company and once you're there you're at their mercy as they are your lift between the airport and car rental office. Also too tired to argue in the middle of the night. I expected a trustworthy company for such a high stake transaction.
No issues at all-Good experience.
The pick-up at Paphos airport was explained in the documentation and so we found the shuttle bus easily. Very nice driver who had us to the depot in a few minutes.
The pick-up was also very friendly and took just 10 minutes.
The car had seen better days with a not-so-clean inside and a good few marks/scratches. But look, the rate was good, the car drove well and it was comfortable ....Suzuki Balerno.
Returning the car was a breeze with no fuss whatsoever.
Only for the car, it was a 5-star experience.
(Pity to see such bad and horrid reviews of AerCar at Larance-maybe they could learn from Paphos depot/)

Horrible experience. True scam artists when dealing with car accident. Avoid! Abhorrent customer service at Larnaca station. Employees cussing customers in Greek among themselves when they think that customers don’t understand. 4 different employees screaming at customers at top of their lungs. Better service received in a 3rd world country.

Awful experience, never again
Nobody told us that the rental service was situated outside of the airport, nobody told us how to get there, we had to ask people at the airport how to go there, the standard didn't pay any attention to us when we arrived. We had to wait after 4 hours flight to be seen, while the staff were talking to their cat at the office. We paid extra to have a bigger car and we got Toyota Aqua, a very tiny car, not one of the cars described in the contract, the vehicle was awful, dirty inside, broken mirror and one car light was missing, many scratches, I didn't expect this type of car for the money we paid. The service and standard are not welcoming customers, they don't help you to check the car, do not explain anything. I will never ever rent with your company again.
Never again
Booked a car with Aercar Paphos and was the worst experience possible. Guy who was supposed to pick me and my husband up from the airport and take us to the office refused because of a lack of voucher and said he would not take us anywhere and he said my name was not on the list. After an hour and a phone call to the office later I grabbed the list out of anger and found my name half way down and the driver said sorry he was tired. At the office it was no better they said payment was due even tho i had already payed and finally they found that the car had been payed for. NEVER EVER again will be using these lot.

I have recently returned from Paphos, Cyprus on 12 Oct 22. I have nothing but praise for Aercar. From picking my husband and myself up at the airport, friendly driver, easy to collect the car, another ariendly chap at the office and everything explained. We did have a problem with a warning light coming on 8 days in which could have been extremely problematic but we decided to call in and speak directly with someone. They treated us really well and we were given an upgrade as there were no cars available in our lower category. Dropping the car off was no problem and return to airport by the same friendly driver. This is the first time we have used them but will certainly do so again. I am not saying it is a positive experience for everyone but it was for us.
I would advise on collection to take lots of photo's before driving away and also to read the small print re the huge deposit and insurance's as whilst waiting for our replacement vehicle, a Nissan X Trail, I observed several people not realising that this would need to be covered and it was causing problems. It is a common practice with most companies though.
AERCAR is the Worst car rental place…
AERCAR is the Worst car rental place ever. I've bee rental car all around the world and for the fist & last time on Cyprus, Larnaca I rent with that AERCAR company.
I paid full amount for the car with included Full Protection Insurance. But when i got there they was looking for another 850 euros extras for deposit and the car probably cost 5k. And the explanation was if you don't pay those money for the deposit you have to pay 70 euros and even if you bring the car in excellent condition the same way when you picked it up still not going to see those 70 euros back. Worst politic for rental company never see things like this , and you don't have a choice because there are car park is in the middle of nowhere is not at the airport which can give you a chance to go with another rental company.

Very are good staffs. We didn't wait in airport just 5min even coming back waiting for 5min. I will highly recommend.
Great experience
I understand some reviews are bad, but my experience was great. The staff was polite and quick to answer the phone. Pickup and drop-off were fast and simple. The car was a little bit underpowered and scratched all over, but it was clean, and everything was working great, especially the AC. I booked through discovercars.com with their full insurance. At the AERCAR desk I just presented the voucher and in a few minutes received my car, without any additional charge.
