I had a great experience working with Mick as my mortgage advisor. After speaking to four other advisors who all told me it wasn’t possible for me to get a mortgage right now and that I’d need to wait another year, Mick completely changed the situation.
He found me two mortgage options that none of the others even mentioned. That alone set him apart, but what I appreciated most was his honest and unbiased approach. He took the time to clearly explain both options and helped me choose the one that was genuinely best for my situation, without any pressure.
Mick was knowledgeable, proactive, and clearly went the extra mile to find solutions where others couldn’t. I’d highly recommend him to anyone looking for a mortgage advisor who actually explores all possibilities and puts your interests first.

The team at Acumen Mortgages, headed up by Mick Kirkman have been top class from start to finish at handling the application for my mortgage. As an overseas buyer of a UK property, the process was something that I genuinely thought could be a time consuming and complex one having lived out of the UK for some time. The way it has been handled for me by Mick and his team was a dream from start to finish. The process was so straightforward and smooth throughout and a lot of that was down to the clear and professional way that Mick handled everything and the super clear communication throughout from him and his time at all times. Lee was absolutely incredible from start to finish. My situation changed multiple times during the process – including a job change and getting a new car, both of which could have caused delays or complications with the mortgage.
However, Lee handled everything quickly, professionally, and without any issues at all. Nothing ever felt like a problem to him, and he kept everything moving smoothly the whole way through.

Would use for a mortgage again!
Would definitely recommend acumen for mortgages, Mick made the process very easy and quick, however I would never use Acumen for life/income insurance again as it took weeks to get sorted and once in place there were countless errors in our policy which took me a further 2 weeks to sort out with the insurance company directly.
