Acorn Stairlifts New Zealand Arvostelua 

I am so disappointed with this company. My husband passed away 12 months after purchasing our stairlift. I was told that there would be an option for the company to buy it back. After ringing customer service I was told that there was no option and that in fact I would have to pay to have it taken out. The service staff were not helpful at all when I need support. My family are very unhappy that I was offered this option in the first place. We would have looked at other companies that offer this service

After a bad day suffered after a Sunday stairlift breakdown, the review for which must still stand, we got a Monday morning priority engineer visit who quickly resolved the problem. We also received a telephone call from Acorn apologising for our poor experience the day before. It seems that they did do the best they could under the circumstances.

The stairlift arrived on the day nominated. The engineer worked solidly all the time he was here, and explained how the stairlift worked when he had completed the installation. His explanation was easy to understand. The documentation provided with the stairlift was detailed and easy to follow.

The admin staff were very pleasant when we talked to them and emailed them.

And the stairlift does the job we wanted it to do. It travels up 29 steps and involves a 180 degree turn and a 90 degree turn.

What amazing service..they called and let me know every step of the way..the service man was wonderful and i cant thank them enough for the extra work they went to to arrange my fit out when a staff member contracted covid…THANKYOU SOO MUCH ACORN

Gordon was quick, efficient and friendly. He explained very thoroughly what the repair consisted of.

When I enquired about removal of my late mother’s stairlift, the team were responsive and offered a range of options from providing a private seller’s guide to their own collection service. Ultimately there was time to wait for an engineer to be in the area and on Tuesday technician Tom arrived and did the job with quiet efficiency and an amiable, polite manner. Another plus is the fact that all parts will be recycled or reused, going on to provide another user with the aid to independence mum benefitted from.

Josh Martin, A Technician for Acorn Stairlifts arrived on time to repair defect code F1. He was thorough, neat and completed the task in short order. he even fixed the wall mount for the transformer. I am very pleases with both Acorn and their staff and would recommend them highly.

After phoning (1st Dec) Acorn they arranged for a surveyor/agent to call us. Leslie changed her schedule and visited later the same day. Leslie examined our stairs carried out a full survey , described what would be done and that she could schedule the installation for 8th Dec. An engineer, Gary, arrived a day early (7th Dec) and installed our stairlift. He worked non stop carried out the work without leaving any mess at all. When complete he thoroughly demonstrated the system operation. From 1st contact on 1st Dec to 7th Dec to installation - brilliant job .The stairlift is a simple to operate robust installation. Both Leslie and Gary are excellent reps of their company and we thank very much for their help and speedy installation

The tech .was on time, professional service. Soon as Josh arrived he started finding our problem, and went to work. He explained to me all details and showed me how to call in a report by looking up the codes.

Bennificial for transporting any thing heavy, myself as well. Unfortunatly the spead is so slow, then stops part way for power charge.

My Dad is 92 and I think his stairlift is almost as old. He uses it several times every day and treats it with contempt, never a dust or polish and no service contract. So, when it started beeping and then stopped working a day or so later I wasn't really surprised.
With no expectation of a quick fix I called Acorn who had installed it, many years ago. They'd carried out a repair about 4 years ago but otherwise the stairlift had had no attention since installation.
My call to Acorn, including waiting time was just over an hour, but at least the recorded message told me where I was in the queue and the music was soft classical rather than anything to wind me up. When I spoke to the operator he was equally gentle and soothing and went through various steps to ensure we really did need an engineer and it wasn't something that he could talk me through.
I paid a call out fee and was told I'd be contacted within a couple of hours and an engineer would be despatched within 48 hours. I received the call back within 30 minutes and another very pleasant staff member promised me an engineer the next day as Dad was a priority customer.
I asked for an afternoon attendance as I already had morning plans and the engineer arrived just after 3 p.m. having called me about 20 minutes before to say he was on his way. He effectively carried out a complete service, renewed the cracked cover for the mechanism, suggested new batteries would help for the future and the stairlift was soon moving up and down almost silently and at a greater speed than it has done for years. Total cost, including call out, new cover, large batteries and batteries for the remote control - £325. I was expecting to pay much more - maybe the price of a new stairlift.
The engineer was friendly and professional - remembered coming in 2018 when it had it's previous hiccup. I couldn't be happier with the service and great value. I didn't have to beg and pray for an early appointment - they understood a 92 year old with Alzheimers and other health conditions doesn't need the additional worry of not getting up to bed or the bathroom. Well done Acorn!

right from the word go John told us all we needed to know about Acorn stairlifts. the simplicity of installation, the ease of operation, the ability to shift goods as well as people. at no stage was he over bearing, made us feel at ease . we were comitted straight away.. good on you Acorn, we will be happy to recomend you to any one you wish,,,

Professional and helpful technicians that went the extra mile to try to give our small unit more space. At one stage we were unsure whether to continue with it and the technician said he was happy to give us time to think about it. Ultimately we decided to go ahead and the reason for the installation was used the following weekend to carry luggage downstairs. Wonderful service!

Efficiently quoted and installed - did everything they said they would do when they said they would do it. Installer was efficient, professional and pleasant.

Our Family are very pleased with the purchase of a Stair Master lift for our Mother, who finds the lift easy for her to use. It has made a big difference in her day to day struggles as she recovers from a very bad fall.
