Hidden fees and terrible customer serviceI booked through Ace, but dealing with Drivo was a complete nightmare. The initial price looked cheap, but they forced me to pay unexpected fees and extra insurance at the counter. The staff was unhelpful and the wait times for the shuttle were way too long. Avoid this company if you want to avoid hidden costs.

Moje doświadczenie pokazuje, że osoby, które nie wykupią dodatkowego ubezpieczenia, mogą zostać obciążone kosztami rzekomych uszkodzeń.

Przy odbiorze samochodu na CHECK-IN były już widoczne rysy. Te same rysy zostały również zaznaczone przy CHECK-OUT. Co więcej, po zwrocie samochodu, kiedy zapytałem o jego stan, otrzymałem od wypożyczalni pisemne potwierdzenie, że nie ma żadnych uszkodzeń.

Mimo to później zostałem obciążony kosztami naprawy całych lewych drzwi.

Dla mnie jest to kompletnie niedopuszczalne. Dokumentacja CHECK-IN i CHECK-OUT pokazuje stan samochodu, a mimo tego wypożyczalnia obciążyła mnie kosztami naprawy.

Zdecydowanie odradzam OSEK Rent a Car. Jeśli nie chcecie ryzykować podobnej sytuacji, omijajcie tę wypożyczalnię szerokim łukiem

Une honte absolue. Fuyez cette agence (Auto Rom / Ace Rent A Car Otopeni) si vous ne voulez pas vous faire escroquer.

Au retour du véhicule, le personnel est devenu extrêmement désagréable, agressif et menaçant. Ils ont profité de l'urgence de notre vol pour nous mettre une pression intenable et nous forcer à signer leur document de restitution sous la contrainte.
Leur combine est bien rodée : ils nous facturent arbitrairement 400 € pour d'infimes micro-rayures superficielles de vernis sur le capot (usure normale / passage d'un chat). Le comble ? Les photos qu'ils fournissent pour l'état des lieux de départ (check-in) sont prises de loin, avec un angle et une exposition qui rendent totalement impossible la vérification de l'état réel du vernis ou la présence préalable de ces marques.
Ils refusent de fournir le moindre devis de réparation officiel émis par un carrossier agréé et admettent par écrit facturer un montant forfaitaire qu'ils estiment eux-mêmes au doigt mouillé.

C'est du vol caractérisé et une violation flagrante des droits des consommateurs.
Dossier immédiatement transmis à l'ANPC (Autorité Nationale pour la Protection des Consommateurs), au Centre Européen des Consommateurs (ECC-Net) et à notre assurance.

Ne louez jamais chez eux !

Rental car was not available for four hours. Customer service was not available on weekends and nobody contacted us that fleet was unavailable despite us reaching out multiple times and going to counter twice. On positive note, Dior at front desk was helpful and kind. Terrible experience, were never renting again from here but thanks for all your help Dior!

Was quoted a Toyota Rav 4 and was given a Mitsubishi piece of crap!
Long wait time and we were the first in line.
Counter people not friendly. Had to sign enough papers to buy a house.
Was charged $105 for EZ Pass but my tolls were only $10. BIG RIPOFF!!
The quoted $320 rental ended up costing $530!

I strongly advise against using ACE Rent A Car based on my experience in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

I paid for a rental vehicle, and only after payment was I taken outside to inspect it. At that point, the employee himself apologized and stated that he had just received the vehicle and only then noticed that it had clear damage to the front bumper. I immediately documented this with video evidence.

I was not willing to accept a damaged vehicle, so I refused it and cancelled the rental within less than an hour. I did not use the vehicle at any point, nor did I receive any rental service.

It would be reasonable to expect a straightforward refund in such a situation. Instead, I have been subjected to repeated delays and excuses while attempting to recover my money.

What is particularly unacceptable is that the damage was not something I discovered after the fact—it was acknowledged on-site by their own employee at the time of rental. I have clear video evidence confirming the condition of the vehicle.

The way this matter has been handled is completely unsatisfactory. A legitimate and reputable company should not force a customer into a prolonged dispute simply to obtain a refund for a service that was never provided.

Based on this experience, I cannot recommend ACE Rent A Car under any circumstances. Anyone considering renting from them should be extremely cautious, document everything in detail, and expect potential difficulties if issues arise.

I rented a vehicle through Ace Rent A Car at Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) in July 2026 (RA# LAX-286390). At pickup, the counter agent (Malik) falsely claimed that an optional "Toll Pass B" package ($7.95/day + tax, totaling $103.35) was mandatory in order to take the car. Under California law and Ace’s own contract terms, this service is strictly optional. When I realized it was optional, I requested cancellation via email on Day 3. Upon returning the vehicle at LAX, an on-site staff member (Junior) explicitly acknowledged at the desk that the toll pass was NOT mandatory and should never have been forced onto my agreement. However, he stated he could not authorise the refund at the desk, and corporate management (Emily D.) later issued a flat refusal to refund the $103.35, hiding behind the fact that the paper was signed. Using high-pressure counter tactics to force optional add-ons onto unsuspecting customers—and then refusing to rectify it even after staff acknowledge the mis-selling—is unacceptable.Avoid Ace at LAX unless you are prepared to double-check every single line item and refuse optional charges at the counter, regardless of what the agents tell you verbally.

rent a a car, their insurance policy states that you have to have full coverage insurance, if not hen collision damage waiver is required. When i inquired, they stated that the full coverage insurance must specifically state it covers rental cars.
They kept telling me to cover insurance requirements, you have to purchase CDW at around 30.00 per day.
The desk at their location would not answer the phone. 407-588-0018.

JFK Airport rental:
1) Ace Rental claims to be a JFK rental, but they are not at JFK.
2) Once there, it took a long time to get the car.
3) The car was old, roughly 50k miles.
4) The car can't be driven into most states (not a national company).
5) They repeatedly asked if I wanted insurance, as they all do. The clerk was friendly and nice. I politely declined again and again as always. He charged $500+ for the insurance two days after I left with the car.
5) I called to have the charges removed, and they said, "Sure, as soon as we look at the video of you at the counter." They promised 2 days. After 3 days they said sorry, please wait. After 10 days, "Sorry, please wait."
6) They are smart, they make a lot of money with this scam unless they get put in jail. But who has the resources to enforce this?

I strongly advise against renting a car from this company at Warsaw Chopin Airport. My experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish.

Unjustified €1,000 damage charge: I was charged €1,000 for scratches that were completely invisible to the naked eye and, based on the condition of the car when I collected it, were very likely already present before my rental.

Evidence was ignored: There was a scratch on the windshield that was already there when I picked up the car, which is clearly visible in the video I recorded during the check-in process. Despite providing this video as evidence, the company completely dismissed it.

False accusation: To make matters worse, I was also accused of taking items from inside the vehicle — items that were not there when I collected the car. This is a very serious accusation and completely untrue.

Questionable evidence: The video later sent to me by the company supposedly showing the alleged damage is extremely difficult to take seriously. The scratches shown are barely, if at all, visible.

I would strongly recommend documenting every part of the vehicle with photos and videos before leaving the rental location. Based on my experience, I would personally never rent from this company again.

Zdecydowanie odradzam wynajem samochodu w tej firmie na lotnisku Chopina w Warszawie. Moje doświadczenie było skrajnie rozczarowujące od początku do końca.

Nieuzasadniona opłata w wysokości 1000 euro: Zostałem obciążony kwotą 1000 euro za rysy, które były całkowicie niewidoczne gołym okiem i, biorąc pod uwagę stan samochodu w momencie odbioru, z dużym prawdopodobieństwem znajdowały się na nim już wcześniej.

Zignorowane dowody: Na przedniej szybie znajdowała się rysa, która była tam już w momencie odbioru samochodu, co wyraźnie widać na nagraniu wykonanym przeze mnie podczas odbioru. Pomimo przedstawienia nagrania jako dowodu, firma całkowicie je zignorowała.

Fałszywe oskarżenie: Jakby tego było mało, zostałem również oskarżony o zabranie przedmiotów znajdujących się wewnątrz samochodu — przedmiotów, których nie było w pojeździe w momencie jego odbioru. Jest to bardzo poważne i całkowicie nieprawdziwe oskarżenie.

Wątpliwe dowody: Film przesłany mi później przez firmę, który miał przedstawiać rzekome uszkodzenia, jest bardzo trudny do uznania za przekonujący. Pokazane na nim rysy są praktycznie niewidoczne.

Zdecydowanie radzę dokładnie dokumentować zdjęciami i nagraniami każdy element samochodu przed opuszczeniem miejsca odbioru. Po tym doświadczeniu osobiście nigdy więcej nie skorzystam z usług tej firmy.

Addebiti ingiustificati e truffa sui danni: Mi sono stati addebitati ben 1000 euro per dei graffi totalmente invisibili a occhio nudo, che con ogni probabilità erano già presenti sul veicolo prima del mio noleggio.

Prove ignorate: C'era un graffio sul vetro che era al 100% già presente quando ho ritirato l'auto, come dimostrato chiaramente dal mio video girato al momento del check-in. Nonostante abbia mostrato le prove video inequivocabili, la compagnia se ne è completamente fregata, dimostrando una totale mancanza di professionalità e malafede.

Accuse infamanti: Ciliegina sulla torta, sono stato persino accusato di furto di oggetti all'interno del veicolo, oggetti che non erano assolutamente presenti al momento del ritiro. È un'accusa gravissima e totalmente falsa.

Prove ridicole da parte dell'agenzia: Il video che mi è stato mandato successivamente dalla compagnia per segnalarmi questi presunti danni è a dir poco ridicolo: mostra graffi letteralmente invisibili e inventati di sana pianta.

State alla larga da questo autonoleggio se non volete vedervi sfilare soldi ingiustamente dalla carta di credito con scuse assurde e accuse inventate. Mai più!

Absolute terrible experience.

We arrived in Toronto with our family of 6 on time. The shuttle to pick us up was a 5 seater SUV even though when you call they ask how many people are in your group so we had to break in two groups to do two trips. We get inside ACE car rentals to be told the are putting us in a 5 seater SUV! We reserved a full sized 7 seater SUV for the 6 of us so clearly a 5 seater won't work. The worker sat there arguing with my husband saying my husband doesn't understand that they don't have 7 seaters available! We reserved a 7 seater well in advanced by the way. So they tried to get us to take two cars but only one of us drives and how does that make any sense to have double the tolls,parking and gas! Anyways the worker looked online and told us that enterprise has a 7 seater available. He did not call to confirm just got the shuttle (two SUVs ) to drop us off. We go in to enterprise with our 4 children all of our luggage to be told they do not have ANY vehicles available and now we are stranded in a city we are not familiar with and have no vehicle to get anywhere. This experience was absolutely terrible. We spent well over 2 hours after our 5 hour flight with 4 hungry kids looking for a vehicle to rent.

We still have not been reimbursed for the vehicle we never recieved on top of all of this through Trivago/Priceline.

Honestly if your in Toronto and need a car rental go to SIXT car rentals. The customer service agent named July saved our trip. He had amazing customer service and was extremely helpful.
