I got into an accident on March 13 and I’ve been trying contact accelerant insurance comp so they could own up to the responsibility. In fixing my vehicle and nobody’s reaching out to me.

I award our experience one star because we did eventually get paid approximately 85% of our claim, but the experience was costly, painful, time-consuming and a shocking realisation. The impression was created that a good day at the office for Accelerant staff is any when they make no pay-outs. After the assessors approved builders' quotes of over £20K-worth of works to make good severe damage to two flats caused by a burst water pipe, we proceeded as instructed. Only when the bills were submitted did Accelerant start to make the process extremely difficult - demanding a range of documentation and proof of ownership of the two properties. Over three months from submission of the invoices to payment. BEWARE!

We live in a 14 unit apartment building, it is about 12 years old. There has been ongoing work to re render the outside of the building, all funded by the individual owners/occupiers to maintain the building. When we came to repair part of the building, as section of about 10% of the whole repair, we each contributed about £2000. It was found that there were structural problems, increasing the total costs to about £160,000 so we contacted the insurance company who we thought was Ventis. They sent a loss adjuster on 04/10/2025, McLarens who said they were doubtful that the insurance company would pay for the repair, but they would give us an answer within a week. It is now 29/12/2025, still no decision, scaffolding has been in place for 7 months, costing thousands of pounds. At the Moment giving Accelerant 1 star as 0 is not an option, I can’t wait to hear from them with a positive reply, and be the first to increase their rating from rock bottom.

In my experience this is the worst insurance company ever. STAY CLEAR OF THIS COMPANY. Ten months later and they have still not paid out on a claim and still no sign of a payout or even the go ahead to start repairs. This company is very good at stalling and asking for information every couple of months that have no relevance to the claim.

I feel like such an idiot not having searched reviews before signing up for insurance with this company. They were recommended by my industry group, which negotiated a discount on rates. A lot of good a discount is if the insurance doesn't pay claims. Their reasoning was strained beyond belief. At least it was a relatively small claim, and I will be switching companies ASAP.

100% agree, accelerant specialty insurance group is trash. I have been homeless for going on eight months they show no concern. Paying a mortgage with no home they don’t care having to sell off my family property where the homes was at to clear mortgage so I can move on with life. Best I could tell anyone do not do business with this trashy company. Keep fighting if you are going up against this company, I will not stop. I live on the side of the main interstate. I have noticed these are the only reviews online about this trash company so I am planning to put a sign up a very large sign on my property on the side of the interstate to give a review so other people can see and not to do business with this Company

Beware of Bad Faith Practices by Accelerant National Insurance

If you have insurance through Accelerant National Insurance, be cautious. We experienced significant roof damage after a storm in July 2024, but despite clear evidence of storm-related damage, Accelerant’s subcontracted adjuster, Tim Mason, provided a completely false assessment. They claimed the damage was caused by "foot traffic" and "wear and tear"—which is entirely inaccurate, especially since no one has accessed our roof in over 13 years and 13 other buildings in our complex have similar or worse roof damage.

Accelerant failed to communicate transparently, refused to provide written documentation, and used the same false claims as another insurance company involved. They have shown no willingness to act in good faith or resolve the issue. If you’re dealing with Accelerant, make sure you have an independent adjuster and document everything—this company will do anything to avoid covering valid claims.

Relieved, yet saddened to see another person in the same situation as myself has reviewed this company because prior to finding the other review, Accelerant appear to have somehow flown under the radar of public opinion. Absolute cowboys who have no regard for the Insurance Act Laws and zero regard for policyholders. All they care about is unfairly reducing claims in a bid to better their financial position within the industry but by doing that, they are not providing the service they promise to policyholders. To attempt to reduce claims they outsource their dirty work to the most aggressive, ruthless loss adjusters to try and destroy policyholders lives on Accelerant’s behalf. They are the definition of a corporate giant with worries only for their financial ratings and no concern for their reputation within the industry. I highly doubt they get much return business after a claim has been suffered by their policyholders. I will never use Accelerant again to insure anything I own and I would not recommend this company.

Appalling insurance company; consistently and unjustifiably refuse to pay out and attempt to reduce claims even when the cover was in place. Be prepared to involve third-party support services such as the Financial Ombudsman, sacrifice an unreasonable amount of time, and suffer ill effects emotionally if you ever have to experience a claim with this insurer. They are ruthless from the outset, right up to the very end of the claim, and carry no regard for the impact that unavoidable disasters have on a policyholder's life. Be prepared to fight to survive. Nothing is straightforward. Would not recommend insuring with this company; opt for a more traditional insurer with good moral standing. if you are reading this and are unfortunate enough to be where I was, keep fighting the fight; don't give up.
