There was no difficulty with the payment plan and the response was fast and quick.

I have completed my maths course online with Academy Online Learning and found it great value for money. The tutor support was absolutely fantastic and I was completed in about 1 month. I can't recommend this enough. Also, the tutor Keiron goes out of his way to ensure you have everything you need. Most importantly, exam day isn't as scary as it seems and Sam is on hand to put your mind at ease. I love how structured it was and the exam was exactly how I expected it to be.

I have only 2 small assignments left before I complete the Access to Paramedic Science course and it has been a great experience. I cant fault the tutors, Alison and Jess. They always mark work and get it back to you asap, Additionally I knew roughly how many UCAS points I was going to Achieve based on results, which was very handy. Each module was very challenging, fun and pushed me beyond my comfort zone. Can't wait to finish the course and move onto paramedic science at university.

Brilliant insight to science. Feel accomplished after completion. Recieved 4/5 uni interviews just waiting for the offers hopefully now.

Very approachable and manageable course, a great first step to further education

I joined AOLL (Academy Online Learning) back in 2016, unfortunately soon after joining I had to leave the course and take a break as my life circumstances changed dramatically.

I wasn’t given the option to freeze my payments (despite being in financial hardship) and they sent me legal letters to my home address demanding payment. Upon contacting the director about this, I was reassured that if I paid the course I’d be able to return to complete / resume my studies. So I asked a family member to help as they were giving me anxiety with threatening letters. It was never mentioned once to me that there was a timescale or limit for when I could return.

I am now in a position where I can return to my studies, so I got in touch with them to arrange this - to find they’ve decided to change their mind and are now telling me you can only resume studies within 12 months of freezing your course - or your lose all the money (over £1,000!).

I would absolutely not recommend taking the risk with this company, although my tutor was helpful when I was with them, it’s not worth taking the risk of losing your hard earned cash for them to pocket after providing you nothing! Use an alternative company, or better yet - go to a real college. Upon researching I’ve found you can do online Access to HE courses fully funded by the government’s advance learner loan (if you search via the Access to Higher Education website) - this isn’t repayable if you compete your undergrad degree - so it works out free! Don’t risk losing your money - especially in a cost of living crisis!

Wish I’d never come across this company and it’s been nothing but an unpleasant experience from start to finish!

I wouldn’t bother sending complaints to Academy Online Learning (AOLL) as judging from my experience and reading others’ reviews you won’t get anywhere - perhaps contact the awarding body ‘Open Awards’.

THE ‘SUBSTANTIAL’ DISCOUNT THEY REFER TO IS £200 OFF £1,212 (PAYING FOR A BRAND NEW COURSE) NOT WHAT I WOULD CONSIDER SUBSTANTIAL WHEN IVE ALREADY WASTED OVER £1000. I HAVEN’T USED 6M OF COURSE EITHER - NOR WAS I MADE AWARE OF ANY LIMITS OF TIME TO RETURN.

The website was easy to navigate. Course content was really helpful and useful when completing assignments as well as my tutor Nicola and Amy and all the staff at Academy Online learning.

I have just completed the Access to Nursing Diploma whilst working a full-time job in the Military. The process to start the course using my ELCAS was very quick. The course and assignment questions were constructed well and although challenging at times has prepared me better for university. I had two tutors Christine and Andrew throughout the course who were very supportive in answering questions quickly and giving constructive feedback on assignments in order to improve on future assignments. Thank you to all of the AOLL team for your support.

Just want to say massive thanks to all the team at AOLL. So good to have completed my diploma never thought I could enjoy studying. Didn't do very well at school I joined the army medical corp and last year used my elc fund and decided on my my next move. Got my confirmed place at uni and off to become a paramedic in September! All thanks to my tutors and the faith they had in me. Yes deffo recommend AOLL.

This is a brilliant online course with excellent tutors and management staff that got me through my Radiography course. Thanks to the Steve ad Nicola that gave me really constructive feedback that got me working harder and better. Uni here I come!!

I highly recommend this course to anyone that wants to study an access course in Nursing. The tutors were really supportive and I've achieved what I wanted to get - my place at university. Staff were really friendly and great feedback on my UCAS application submission. Big thanks to all that helped me.

Waste of £1200!
I was given the impression that the tutor would be much more interactive than they were. One phone call took place at the start of the course which gave me the false impression that there would be regular phone calls to track progress.

I struggled with the content and was told by my tutor that 'they can't give too much away' after asking for support. I then also asked for recommendations of academic journals that I could use due to receiving low marks because of not using a variety of references. This message was ignored and no help was received.

Also, when having a transfer of tutors I was not notified and had to reach out to the tutor myself where they explained the transfer was 'missed'. Whilst waiting for this transfer my learning materials were restricted so I was unable to access any materials and I had to push for this to be changed.

I also emailed student services to voice that I was struggling with the course and for additional support but I had no response after emailing twice.

Eventually, I decided to no longer take part in the course, it was not worth the stress. It has now been months and nobody has reached out as I have paid in full so they are clearly unbothered. I also received an email after paying for the course requesting £200. I replied stating that I have nothing left to pay and apparently this was a mistake they had made? Luckily I didn't just click the link and make the payment.

I have not heard from anyone working at AOL and have received NO qualifications after spending £1200!
I ended up taking a completely different career path due to this course and the lack of support given to students.

I would definitely not recommend using Academy Online Learning there are many other platforms and would advise looking for a face-to-face course or one where regular video calls take place.

The AOLL course I took (access to healthcare) was well structured and full of relevant information which builds the foundation for University study. The tutors are incredibly and knowledgeable in their subjects and always willing to help with any questions. Alison was especially helpful in my experience as she gave clear, constructive essay feedback and communicated consistently with me throughout the section of the course I took with her. I highly recommend AOLL to anyone interested in studying an access to HE course!
