Even though the website site cancellation was in the package I still got charged for cancellation

Easy to use, good service

Nobody got back to me when they said they would. Couldn’t help me on the phone, said they’d be back in touch in 48 hours at the latest, almost a week and still waiting.

Good value, it included transfers and baggage for the hold at no extra cost. Only thing that would have been good is more hotel options in the resort as there was only one.

Using the site was very easy and clear to navigate

Hello hays team ,first of all I must say that the hotel and weather was beautiful, the only grievance I have is the location .
When we booked this short break it was for myself to recouperate from an illness ,it stated that there would be shops,bars and restaurants just a short walk away but the nearest shop was 45 minutes away walking ,we had to have taxis there and back to a shopping mall .I was really disappointed about this as my previous illness was chest and breathing problems. Apart from this it was a lovely clean hotel where we stayed most of the time due to not being able to have taxis every day .C Mccarthy

Easy to book and good choices with reasonable prices

Kelly was terrific. She answered my questions and rang me back with some missing details of the holiday.

Can't fault Hayes travel.we just accidentally stumbled across it on line and I'm so glad we did. Our friends had booked a hotel in Spain and was invited to join them but we couldn't find anywhere where their hotel was available they all said booked up. Miraculously Hayes had the hotel available so we booked at a competitive price. Had trouble signing in to their app so sent an email and very next morning we received a phone call talking me through it. Excellent. I would say that on the app it would probably be helpful if it said surname instead of just name.

I booked a holiday online on 6th August 26 for the 23 July 27; the holiday was to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. I made two mistakes on the booking. I accidentally didn’t book a seaview room for an extra £119.13 per person. I also paid the holiday in full instead of paying monthly instalments. I called Hays on the 7th August and after speaking with them for 56 minutes and 12 seconds, they could not change the payment to monthly instalments. They did say they might be able to book the seaview room but it would take 24-72 hours for someone to call me to confirm. 48 hours later, they said it was not available even though it was with different suppliers on their website. Strangely, this information was available on the website and I suggested I could cancel my present booking and simply re-book. They said they couldn’t do this as it was ‘too much of a risk’ (according to their banking department whom the representative contacted). I explained to the representative who had checked everything with the manager too, that my changes would actually make the company more money and even offered to book online again and await the refund for my first booking but as ever, all this was impossible. I explained that I could use the protection afforded by credit card purchases and cancel it that way. However, Hays and the banking team would happily prefer to go to court rather than make simple amendments.

There was no option on the website to book a transfer so when I realised there wasn't one, I phone to add it. Despite - regretably and mistakenly - paying up front for the holiday, they insisted that I paid for the transefer in advance too.

Our 25th wedding anniversary is a special occasion so I decided to book with Hays for the first time because it’s apparently the biggest travel agent in the country. I therefore presumed it would provide good customer support both online and off. I am dreadfully disappointed and would not use them again.

Update 18/8/26 - After writing to customer service, Rebekah who has replied below, found ways to upgrade the room and change the finance to monthly payments. I have therefore moved the star rating from 1 to 2. I have spent an inordinate time trying to fix this very simple problem so I suggested I should receive some sort of compensation - perhaps a transfer upgrade or a percentage off the cost. This was flatly refused so again, I think I couldn't recommend the company as they even rejected an opportunity to compensate their customer.

I booked a holiday that I thought was a Jet2 package because it’s one we’d been looking at as a package over the last couple of weeks, both on Hays and Jet2 sites. It turned out to be flights and hotel only, so now it looks like I’ll have to pay almost £300 to add bags to the flight and transfers to the accommodation. I went to the local Hays branch, they were friendly but couldn’t see the booking on their system because it was done online so weren’t able to help. I called customer service who again was very friendly to deal with, explained about selecting packages or holidays on the App, and the costs of adding the additional items. The package we wanted seemed to be available but we would have to cancel and rebook, incurring cancellation fees no doubt (I’m awaiting a call to give details). I don’t want to cancel, I want the flights and hotel we’ve booked but as a package. I’m sure it will be resolved but for now it’s tarnished what should have been excitement at having a lovely holiday to look forward to. It feels more could be done to make clear the difference between a Hays holiday and package on the app, because once you’re into the search it all seems the same. And the service felt disjointed when the Hays branch couldn’t help, like it was a separate organisation.

Fast informative and efficient

The app is very easy to use but since I booked my holiday last Friday iv been trying to find my booking and even today still can't find it plus I'm still waiting for all the the details and direct debit payments as well
