I had an extremely disappointing experience selling my car to Car Planet. Based on my personal experience, I found the whole process very difficult to trust, and I would strongly advise anyone considering selling their car to them to get several other valuations before agreeing to anything.

I was initially given a very attractive valuation of around £23,900. However, when they came to inspect the car, they started highlighting extremely minor issues, including a tiny 1 mm chip that was almost invisible. They also claimed that there were problems with certain functions of the car. When I demonstrated that those functions were actually working, I was then told that although they appeared to work, their computer was showing issues and that repairs could potentially cost a significant amount.

This was particularly frustrating because my car had been extremely well looked after and was in excellent condition for a used vehicle. I regularly drove long distances without any problems whatsoever.

Despite this, they initially tried to reduce their original valuation by approximately £2,500. After a lot of discussion and negotiation, they improved the revised offer, and I eventually accepted £22,800.

I was considering waiting for my Motorway auction and specifically mentioned this during the discussion. I was discouraged from doing so and was told that Motorway would probably offer me less. As this was my first time selling a car in this way, I became confused and unfortunately made the decision too quickly.

What happened afterwards was particularly disappointing. The following day, my Motorway auction produced an offer approximately £1,000 higher than the amount for which I had sold my car to Car Planet. I deeply regretted not waiting just another 24 hours.

My advice to other sellers is simple: do not make a rushed decision. A high initial valuation means very little if it is substantially reduced after inspection. If you are told that your car has expensive faults, ask to see exactly what has been identified and consider getting an independent opinion before accepting a large reduction.

Get quotes from Motorway and other buyers, allow the auction process to finish, and compare the final amounts before handing over your vehicle.

This review reflects my own experience. Unfortunately, I was extremely unhappy with how the valuation changed and how the process was handled. I would not sell another car to Car Planet, and I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

The buying process was really easy, and Hassan was a massive help in making sure any questions about the car and general process were answered.

Tiffany Cain was fantastic with open and honest answers and made my purchasing experience a real pleasure. She went through everything I could not have asked any more.
It would be a pleasure dealing with Tiffany again.
Also Ali Lilo sorted out the final purchase particulars quickly explaining all elements. As i was unable to sign on my phone he sent it to my e-mail account to sign at home. Thanks to both of them.

Hassan from the Barnet branch made my experience a great one.
He was very professional, polite, confident in his craft, which made me feel comfortable throughout the process of purchasing.
Carplant is training there staff well, judging by Hassan and also picking people for the job with the right attitude.

My daughter was not given back her licence the sales person had taken it and did not return it and as I said it took many calls and emails and it was over 2weeks before she received it back.
Customer Relations Support said in a email ' It is the customers responsibility to ensure they retrieve everything from the showroom '
and stated You , my daughter had lost it maybe it should be that your company should take responsibility to sure they RETURN all of the customers property before they leave there showroom

DISSATISFIED

After many emails confirming the car would be valeted as the car and seats were filthy on the test drive, I came to collect the car and it hadn’t been done. Upon collection The sales lady that took over the same said “well it’s a second hand car what do you expect”

They offered to reimburse me £25 for a valet which I have not seen yet and as a valet cost £60-£100 it has hacked me off.

I noticed the heater panel control system was broken on test drive. They replaced it, great, however the mechanic scratched and dented the dash with his trim tool whilst replacing it.

The salesman said he’ll talk to after sales and get it sorted, that was 5 days ago I’ve heard nothing.

It had no fuel, they topped it up, all good.

The ac needed re-gassing and I think it’s been done.

I got the feel that I was just a number, get rid of him, earn the money/commission. The car was good value, I know it wasn’t a lot of commission for the sales team but the car was a lot of money for me.

Now I need to pay more for a valet for the seats and a trim repair company to repair my dash as it’s going to be used for learner drivers so it has to be clean and tidy and in good condition!

Would be good if they contacted me to sort this out but I doubt they will.

To be honest the 4 star rating is a bit unfair, it would have been 5 star if you were closer. All the staff were very helpful and a special note should be made for 'Noah' ! No pressure, no silly sales pitch , I told him what I was after he showed me what was available and was just a really nice guy! Coffee was pretty good too 👍

I wouldn’t buy from this bunch again. In total I was at this place for over 4 hours over 2 days. The process of trying to buy a car, is tedious and painfully slow. I was ready to just leave the purchase of the car and just go. They will push all the extras on you and try to get you to take a loan if you’re a cash buyer. The sales office is cramped and noisy with music also being played loudly. I’m partially deaf and struggled to hear what was being said.
The car I chose had a flat tyre and was told they’d get a new tyre fitted. Picking up the car the following week, the tyre looked okay, by time I got home, it was flat and was down to 4 psi. Why lie and say it had a new tyre, it was obviously pumped up to get me home. That action spoke volumes to me and will never give my money to these people again!
I’ve had to spend £200 on a new tyre as the one on the car was dangerous and actually had a split in it!
Don’t believe the good reviews, they got this review removed from google reviews!

Very professional at what they do and very helpful.

I would strongly advise anyone considering buying a vehicle from this dealership to think very carefully before doing so.

From the very beginning, my experience was disappointing. When I viewed the car, I noticed it already had faults. I raised these with the dealership before purchasing the vehicle, and I was assured that everything would be checked and resolved before delivery.

Even after I had finalised the purchase, I had to wait several days before collecting the car. Throughout the process there were numerous issues, and the salesperson who initially dealt with me passed my case to another member of staff. This resulted in poor communication, confusion and a complete lack of continuity. I constantly had to chase for updates instead of being kept informed.

Unfortunately, despite their assurances, the car was still faulty when I collected it. I reported the problems immediately and requested to reject and return the vehicle. Since then, I have repeatedly received the same response by both email and telephone: that they are “still investigating” and will provide an update “soon”. Weeks have now passed, yet nothing has been resolved.

To make matters worse, my finance agreement has already started, meaning I am expected to make monthly payments for a vehicle that was faulty from the outset and which I have been trying to return. Despite paying a substantial deposit and placing my trust in the dealership, I have been left with stress, uncertainty and no clear resolution.

The lack of communication, urgency and customer care has been extremely disappointing. I expected a professional dealership to stand behind the vehicles they sell and resolve genuine issues promptly. Instead, I have been left chasing for answers while receiving the same generic response every time.

Overall, this has been a frustrating and stressful experience. I sincerely hope the dealership improves its customer service and takes greater responsibility when problems arise. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend buying a vehicle from this dealership.

Collecting the car swa slow. 2hours ro receive car.

I bought a car from Watford branch two weeks ago. I didn’t like the car I had originally booked online, I tried out some others. The staff member seemed a bit tense at first but turned out to be very helpful later on. The whole process went smoothly and so far, Ther are no issues, I hope doesn’t happen. Salih handled it from start to finish. Thank you so much.

Sold faulty car. I was told to take to their repair center in Enfield but it was not finished and I was told the have to order some parts and finish repair.
Parts hasn't come since 3 weeks.
Also sent sales department email to call back but no one from sales or after sales.
DO NOT BUY ANY VEHICLE FROM THIS COMPANY.

This people sell rubbish cars, do not buy the cars from here, i recently bought the car, broke down in less then 24hrs.

They sold me a car full of fault codes.

I am returning the car under the consumer rights act 2015.

The sales person also did not inform us at the time of sale that there was also service issues with the car and that there was only one key.

I would not recommend them to anyone stay far far away.

Fast turn around, good communication and friendly service.

I wouldn’t recommend this company the staff lied just to get the sale Mo eka who sold me the car new there was things wrong with it assured me that they would be fixed, no such luck! Very bad customer service just get passed around on the phone with no answer or resolutions to my problems with the car! VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I would never go back to them or recommend them as my experience has been very frustrating and upsetting I’ve been made to feel like a lire form trusting and taking Mo eka’s word! Not good experience at all very upsetting.
