Bad experience altogether. I was massively overcharged for drafting a letter and then the barrister didn’t even bother to post the original to me, just emailed me a copy, in spite of my requests.

I contacted dozens of chambers while searching for a direct access barrister to represent us in court, and I spoke to many different clerks and representatives along the way. Out of all of them, Thomas Shepherd at Barrister Connect.com stood out by far.

I would not recommend. I wrote a review that was quite long and detailed. But barrister direct complained because I named the barrister who did a bad job and the barristers aid who was equally bad, so the review got removed. Here I am again.

Just be warned that its luck of the draw who you get, it didn't feel like the barrister wanted to help us but was more interested in getting off the phone (even though we paid what we thought was a high amount for 30-45 minutes £600), when I raised a complaint and requested a new barrister I was practically begged to give the guy another chance (via the barristers aid) and felt a bit bullied. I should have stuck to my guns because after the 2nd call I felt no better off.

As a side note I have seen plenty of complaints about the barrister we complained about on here but for some reason those reviews are still up.

I highly recommend Tina Villarosa as a barrister for financial hearings. A family member needed representation as a LiP for an ET. We thought Barrister Connect and the chosen Barrister would be a perfect combination, having paid over £2k, we were left with a barrister who didn't understand what he was doing and nearly had the case thrown out at a very early stage. Complaining to Barrister Connect resulted in a 6 weeks investigation which was full of contradiction, some lies and plain misunderstanding, a token offer was provided. When returning to them to try to 'work something out' amicably we were shut down. So now we will look to redress elsewhere and by other means. If you need help use a solicitor or try other means of direct access barristers, the barristers associated with Barristers Connect don't seem able to do anything above taking your money and letting you down.

I have used Barristers Connect for a number of years across a range of matters. Rory has been an excellent point of contact, consistently going the extra mile to understand client concerns and ensure a prompt turnaround at affordable rates.
