Shoreline DC Refrigeration Arvostelua 14

Having squeezed every last bit of life out of our old fridge (which had been faithfully chugging along since 2001), we met the Shoreline team at Crick this year and decided it was finally time for an upgrade.

We ordered our new fridge at the show on Bank Holiday Monday, and it was delivered on Wednesday. In fact, it almost beat us back to the marina.

It's been up and running for a couple of weeks now, and the efficiency has genuinely blown us away. If this one lasts as long as its predecessor, we'll be delighted. Although, at that rate, it may well outlive us.

Great company to deal with, and whenever you need them, there's always a friendly voice at the other end of the phone.

We bought our 1st Shoreline fridge in 2001, which makes it 25yrs old. The lower hinge, which extends forward from the base rusted away after about 18-20yrs & I riveted on a replacement. The internal space/layout/design is good, with enough room in the door for 2 bottles of milk/wine, etc + cheese or butter on the small shelf. There's space under the freezer for cans, jars, etc & the temperature is easily control via a dial inside on the left. We reasoned that having lasted 25yrs & being somewhat dilapidated we should bite the bullet & buy a new one.
Sadly, Shoreline have, inexplicably, downgraded their product in numerous ways: firstly, they've moved the thermostat dials to the back of the fridge, making it a huge job to make adjustments.
Second, they've reduced the size from 47lt to 45lt. Although this doesn't sound much, it manifests in very irritating ways - only 1 tall bottle will now fit in the door, they've compensated for this by leaving gaps in the wire shelf, which means it is a very unstable surface on which to store cups, jars, etc.
Furthermore, the space under the freezer box (won't someone produce a Larder style) is too low/narrow for jars of jam, chutney, etc.
So although they claim the volume has reduced from 47 to 45lt, the effect is of a much greater reduction - it's too late for us to send it back, but I felt I had to warn people - I've seen much much cheaper equivalent fridges (unfortunately our narrowboat kitchen is all built in, so we had to spend £550 in a sale to buy a much downgraded version of what was already there 😕

After having a shoreline freezer for just over 12 months it packed up and i lots all food in it, I phone up shore line and pushed button 3, was put through to Andy explained the problem I had carried all the self diagnosis in the book, the fault was confirmed to be thermostat this at 1100hrs Andy said he would send out replacement part, that arrived following day at 1000hrs it was fitted by me and worked well overnight making ice cubes, following dinnertime went to make some more they had melted and the light was flashing twice saving faulty fan ? there isnt one, called Andy again was put on to Tony the fault was diagnosed as faulty control board, tony would send one out asap with return label so faulty one could be returned for investigation, received it within 36hrs on me fitting it i spotted the top terminal was no on properly, the replacement part was fitted correctly and it has worked properly and effectively since, I would like to congratulate and thank Andy and Tony on their very efficient service it was a pleasure dealing with you.

We live on boat. It came with a refrigerator. The boat was built in 2006. The refrigerator is still running. We had some very hot days here in London and I had some questions about maintenance. The folks at Shoreline were on top things like it was a 20 grand Sub Zero. I love companies like this. If I ever need another 12/24 volt fridge or freezer I'll call them first.

I had a fault appear on my 12v shoreline fridge. The support (via email) from Shoreline was exceptional in understanding and fault finding the issue experienced, though to final resolution, for which I am very satisfied and grateful 🙏

From start to finish this was superb …..ordered Friday night….delivered Wednesday morning ( my chosen date ) without any fuss or issues…… been a pleasure to deal with shoreline….thank you very much

Contacted Shoreline about a failing 25-year-old 12V fridge. They were happy to advise and make suggestions about dealing with the problem. Short version - the replacement is a Shoreline, which is quieter and seems more energy efficient than the old one. Looking forward to 25 more years!
