Perfect preparation for any MBB interview

I have a finance background and the entire concept of case interviews was new to me. Looking at the huge amount of prep material online that often seems overwhelming, unstructured and often contradicting I decided to get professional help.

It was great to see that with three basic concepts, you can succeed in basically every case out there. Combined with a hands-on coaching programme, I ended up with the MBB offer I was aiming for. Do yourself a favour and make your life easier with the right coaches.

I joined the MBB Offer Machine without any prior knowledge in solving cases. Coming from an engineering background, I had no idea where to start.

After looking around online I found the MBB Offer Machine and had a meeting with Sidi. He convinced me that this was not a scam and I decided to sign up to the program.

What stuck out to me were three things:
- Structure of program
- Experience and professionalism of mentors
- Peer network

When it comes to structure, the program is split in 6 modules. These modules cover everything you need to know and are quite exhaustive. After completing each one in sequence you really feel like you are learning something useful and developing your case solving abilities.

All of the mentors I met had great and relevant MBB experience. So, I could ask them anything and they would give me an honest (sometimes brutal truth) answer. This gave me confidence in the long run, they really know what they are talking about and are professional in delivering it to you. Special mention to the PEI coaching, this really helped me standout in that part of the interview for McKinsey.

Finally, the peer network. Going through the program you get access to a group of peers taking the same program. Of course, you could always find peers through other channels such as Facebook, but this can be sub-optimal due to two things:
- Misalignment. A random person might not understand your approach to solving the cases since it does not follow generic bucket frameworks. Also, the peers are going through the same program and using the same method as the coaches when giving you feedback (again, sometimes very honest!).
- The quality matters a lot. Peer practicing with a complete random can be a big waste of time since that person might not be as invested in the process as you are.

I will be joining McKinsey next year after a successful interview journey and the MBB Offer Machine is a big reason why. Big thanks to the team and please consider joining!

I received an offer from my first MBB option (McKinsey) and I can honestly say I am very grateful for the tools that Sidi and Jörn have managed to compact into this course in such an efficient manner. The content of the course, the tailored mentor sessions and specially the talented pool of candidates that you get to case with throughout the course definitely give you a significant edge over people that are using more standard casing materials. I have cased with a lot of people that did not do the course and with a lot of people that did, and it was clear the casing skill gap between both. Despite the high price (compared to other courses out there), I would deeply recommend this course if you are aiming for the highest chance of securing an MBB offer.

This company prepares you very well for strategy interviews. I think that they offer great, no-nonsense advice, and while it can sometimes be hard to hear, their advice really does prepare you for interviews. Their case logic is also helpful, in addition to the other services they provide (resume/cover letter reading, etc)

Getting an MBB offer was a challenging process for me and this program has been a massive enabler for 3 reasons!

1) Unlike other resources you can find out there, this program really teaches you how to solve any strategic problems without relying on the "typical frameworks" you have heard about (and tried to memorize). It does so by making you realize that there is only a limited number of case types you could come across and pushing you to adopt a top down strategic thinking approach.
2) This training also teaches you the process discipline required to succeed. I found it particularly helpful in learning how to find and communicate my insights from large datasets. For people starting from scratch on their prep journey, this program is a one-stop-shop to learn the process and interactions during case interviews.
3) The program gives you access to other talented and committed individuals who have received the same solid training to practice with. These people taught me so much about how to approach specific situations in cases. They also represent a strong network of colleagues and friends I got across MBBs before I even start on the job.

Sidi and Jörn are highly knowledgable about what MBBs are looking for in a candidate, the skills required to get an offer, and the culture within these firms. They will be available through WhatsApp text and bi-weekly group calls for any question. It is up to you to use them to your benefit!

Sidi and Jorn have a very structured program and they were responsive throughout my entire recruiting journey. I think overall this program was definitely worth the investment. The videos are detailed, clear, and helpful. The best part of the program in my opinion was the access to essentially unlimited peer practice. The peer practice enabled me to get great practice with dozens of like-minded individuals who were also very serious about doing well in the case interviews. The program takes away the stress of not knowing where to start or how to keep progressing. The only negative I saw with the layout of this training was that there are a pretty limited amount of coaching sessions available to practice casing, and they aren’t spread out in a way that made much sense to me. You have two cases with coaches BEFORE you get to see what a full case looks like or practice a single full case with peers. As someone who had never done a case before this program, I found it pretty difficult to do these first two cases with the coaches, especially because the videos outline a framework but don’t outline how to go through the rest of a case. They were harsh with their feedback and I felt demoralized after not doing well on the case. Then I got to peer practice and that’s when I really started to improve. You get one more case coaching session after you have been doing peer practice for a while, and that was pretty helpful, I just wish there had been more of an explanation on how to go through a full case before being thrown into those first two sessions with no peer practice or knowledge on how to continue after a framework. So just be aware that most of your learning and training is going to be is going to come from peer practice and the program videos, not from 1 on 1 coaching sessions. If you get this program, there’s no doubt that after 6 weeks you will be very solid at casing. Overall worth it.

The services offered by the MBB Offer Machine really make a difference when you are serious about landing a job at one of the top consultancies! It really shows that you receive coaching by experts who really know what top consultancies are looking for in a candidate today. My coach had a wealth of experience to share based on own previous experience of working for top consultancies and staying on top of current trends shaping the industry. During the coaching phase I received much more than tips and practice on how to crack a case interview and how to prepare for the fit interview. My coach gave me personalised advice based on my educational and professional background as well as on the location I was interviewing in. Post receiving the offer, I received additional support on how to negotiate some terms of the offer. Overall, I highly recommend working with the MBB offer machine!

Sidi and Jorn changed my life by teaching me how to think logically using a top-down approach . If you're anything like me, you're overwhelmed with the amount of material there is to prepare yourselves for case interviews. And truly, none of it is coherent and won't give you much in terms of the confidence you need to start tackling case interviews.
Sidi's coaching program will definitively take your confidence level for solving cases from 0 to 100 in a matter of a few sessions. The case solving methods are very easy to understand, straightforward, and only a few key techniques will make you able to tackle any kind of case that will be thrown at you during the critical MBB case interviews.
Apart from the techniques itself, the cases that you get to practice with Sidi are well rounded and he will make sure he tests you on all the key elements needed during solving a real case (business sense, mental math, brainstorming abilities etc).

In my honest opinion, the MBB Offer Machine provides you with the absolute best possible preparation for your MBB interviews (case part, FIT/PEI part etc.). No matter if you are still a student or already an experienced hire with many years of industry experience, this program teaches you how to master any part of the interview by LEARNING HOW TO APPROACH ANY CASE QUESTION through a sound and repeatable logic many case books totally fail to explain and/or do not consider.

I learned from a fellow student that after he went through this coaching program, he was offered an analyst position even after his 1st round at an MBB firm. So I did not want to waste my time with free online resources that teach a very flawed way of thinking, but instead applied for Sidi and Joern's coaching program.

The program consists of an intensive 6 week online course (which you can work through at your own pace of course, I did it in ~12 weeks because I did it besides my full-time job), 1:1 coaching sessions with very senior MBB interviewers, group coaching sessions and peer group case training. Additionally, they provide significant mentorship through a WhatsApp group consisting of you, Sidi, Joern, and other senior interviewers from the MBB Offer Machine: everytime you have an issue / question / etc. you can ask them and they respond very quickly. What has helped me also was listening to all recorded group calls and crafting some notes with things I didn’t know before. The mentee’s questions they answer during these fortnightly group calls really gave me detailed nuance to ensure a really strong case performance.

As I said above, the absolute best part is that they teach you a robust way of THINKING, they do NOT train you to be a framework monkey. Through this way of thinking I learned to ask the right questions in order to solve any case: What must be true / what questions do we have to answer in order to give the client a clear recommendation?

What I found also very helpful was that they do not only coach you in 1:1 case interview sessions, but also in 1:1 FIT/PEI sessions, which helped me a lot to really understand which qualities are important for MBB and how I can clearly communicate these qualities to my interviewer. It also helped me to reflect a lot about myself, which is another positive side effect from this coaching! You can apply the lessons learned in this course to almost any strategic question you encounter during your life. This sounds sensational in the beginning, but it really is.

Sidi and Joern are extremely talented individuals who know more about the MBB interview process like anyone else on the market. They do not not only provide you with all the necessary tools for breaking into MBB, but they teach you a skill: a skill that is extremely useful for solving EVERY strategic problem also beyond your MBB career. Having successfully interviewed with McKinsey, I can say that I was asked at the interview day to do EXACTLY what I have been taught by my mentors in several weeks of preparation. Furthermore, I am confident that I will perform above average in my first year of consulting due to the skillset I have acquired in this course.

This course was super helpful as I received my MBB offer with ease! By the time I was at the end of my journey, I was able to comfortably go into any interview and crack it. In fact, before my MBB interview, I hadn't cased for weeks yet my feedback was amazing. In general, this course was helpful for me for 3 key reasons: Time lever, peers, and mentorship!

In December 2021, I sent out my resume to MBB and Tier 2 consulting firms. I thought I would have significant time to prepare throughout 2022 but I didn't as all the firms I applied to showed interest relatively quickly. What I found helpful about this course is that it targets and packages the content on the drivers relevant to succeeding in cases so within the first week of going through the program I was already able to crack cases. This was so much better than going through tons of case books and having to sift through what are best practices and what are not.

Secondly, the peers in this course are interviewing with MBB for the vast majority and hence the pool of peers is high quality and hard working. I learned a lot from them and picked up best practices. Because the pool of large, I could always have a peer to case with the very next day if I so wished. This was arguably the most crucial bit of my learning journey because as they say, practice makes perfect and hence training with high caliber peers aided this.

Finally, the mentorship of Jorn and Sidi was a massive bonus of this course. I could reach out to them about things regarding scheduling, salary, and position negotiations. In fact, towards the end of my journey, I nearly picked a tier 2 over a tier 1 for financial reasons but having a team of mentors to talk through my thoughts, I quickly realized how short term financial gains would mean absolutely nothing in the long term.

Now in terms of the lows, they are very few. I think despite taking this course, it is critical to prep with peers not within the course once in a while. I found that first rounds are typically done by juniors in the firm who still value Victor Cheng practices so picking up a few learnings from candidates preparing that route ended up being useful. Secondly, this course does not guarantee the offer, in addition to the course, I would say three additional things are NECESSARY to succeed: 1) Ability to apply yourself fully (being able to put in the work) 2) A relatively quantitative strong background 3) Enough time to actually pick up on the content as well as practice A LOT with peers.

To conclude, I think if you are pressed for time and want to boost your chances of getting in, this is no doubt the way to go!

Thanks to Sidi, I managed to crack the business cases in my interviews. What Sidi and Jörn teach is a spot-on for MBB interviews. Pure robust logic structuring. I strongly recommend any candidate for MBB interviews to go for MBB-offer-machine.

I worked with Sidi and Jörn to prepare for the "fit" part of the interview alone as I had already done case preparation on my own.

I contacted Jörn and Siddi with very little time before the interview and they were very quick to respond, setting up an initial call to understand my situation and suggest a course of action. I was rapidly able to start with the pre-recorded videos which are helpful as they allow you to go through the material at your own pace (very fast in my case).

The 1-1 interviews were helpful to practice but did felt a bit rushed. I understand they have their processes and methods, however it lacked a bit of personalization for me.

With that being said, I am pleased with the outcome since I achieved my goal and got offers from both firms I was interviewing for.

I would recommend working with Sidi and Jörn!

To be honest, when I was thinking about whether or not to take the program, I had some concerns:
1. I thought that I should be good enough even without the program
2. I don't like to "cheat" and wanted to get the offer without spending a lot of time (and money).
3. I thought that the existing programs (which are often free) must surely be good enough to actually make it into MBB. I mean, not everyone who goes to MBB has gone through Sidi & Jörn.

I was just so wrong. Fortunately, a friend and former mentee convinced me to go through the program anyway. Let me explain why the particular concerns were so wrong:
1. the USP for Sidi & Jörn for me is to increase the likelihood of the offer. Personally, with the prep before the course, I probably would have gotten an offer in 2/10 interviews (I had already done a tier 2 internship at that time). I am very certain that after the course with Sidi it was 9/10 interviews. My case feedback was "fantastic" and the best performance the interviewer has ever seen on this case.
2. the level of case performance at MBB is increasing and what used to be enough is no longer. While I know many Meckies who got their offer 5 years ago only through Victor Cheng, I don't know a single one who got one this year.
3. Existing (free) programs are good for a few classic „case types". All mentees I prepped with received at least one exotic cases which just cannot be solved with the standard frameworks. I personally know that without Sidi & Jörn I would have failed the 1st round, as other courses (e.g. Crafting Cases) would have let me down in such a case type.

By the way, I probably would have wanted to do the program even without the offer.
1. the structured thinking learned in this course is already paying off in real life. In college, at work, but also personal. Just being able to structure any problem regardless of the situation is pretty awesome.
2. I've made some new friends along the way with other mentees and know at least 2 others who will be starting at McKinsey at the same time. We are already planning how we might manage to work together on a project someday :)

I've been in the program for 4 months now and haven’t met one single mentee who regretted it. I'll recommend this program to any friend who is serious about getting into MBB. Good luck to any potential mentee reading this!

The best material on case prep that I have come across. Goes beyond just preparing for interviews but focuses developing thought patterns.

This program completely transformed the way I approach interviews as well as business problems in general. The program is particularly valuable in three unique ways:

1. Muscle building for business problems:
- the logic behind the program is to enhance logical thinking in a super structured and repeatable manner so that we can be ready for any type of "case type", however, what's more important is harnessing the ability to know "what to do" from the very beginning (after case prompt), I think this is an underappreciated skillset because knowing exactly what to do from the initial onset would allow you to drive the case with more confidence and with clear direction.
- In addition, the 'problem-solving logic/skillset' is also transferrable to solve other daily problems at work or in the business world, as an experienced professional, this has been invaluable to me. Hence, to me, even if I did not get an offer (luckily I did), I'd still treasure the new skills I acquired throughout the program.

2. Mentors: Both Jorn and Sidi were amazing mentors who really cared about the growth and improvements of their mentees. I really appreciated both the "no BS" approach as well as the 'care factor', because I really felt that we are embarking on this journey together. This is particularly important and invaluable because the prep journey can be an emotional rollercoaster. (Trust me, this is super rare!）

3. The Peers community: the mentees cohort has been instrumental to my growth, particularly in practicing with each other as well as giving each other encouragement and feedback along the way. I believe I have met made many lifelong friends who share similar values and ambitions.

I am super thankful to both mentors and couldn't have received my McKinsey offer without them. Big thank you!
