Designed to fail the loyal customer

Really poor system. Almost purposefully designed to encourage you to save and then provide large number of hurdles to stop you from being able to enjoy the benefits, website is tellible, customer services are useless and the financial benefits are negligable at best. We regret ever being pulled into the idea of Avios being beneficial - avoid

USELESS AND INCOMPETENT.
I received an email from shopping with Avios to say that they were removing 414 Avios that had been incorrectly awarded from a shop that I had made with an online shop with Avios. However I had not made a shop recently with John Lewis and nor had I been awarded 414 Avios previously. They have not checked my account to see this is correct and have deducted these from my account. Yet nearly a year on I am still waiting for 4,000 Avios from a trip I made with Viator. There is no customer service to contact and it is impossible to find an email to complain to .

It's not worth the effort.

I was getting points without any issues for the first 3 months. Now, literally for every purchase I have to submit a case to claim missing points which is time consuming and off-putting. I know there is no issue with my devices and browsers. Can see a tracked visit to various retailers on Avios app but I get no rewards after making the purchase. I suspect that Avios has a system that basically prevents people from collecting points after 3 months at least with retailers that offer highest number of points. There is literally no other explanation.

Headache, lack of organization

I have to claim avios most of the time. Lot of times they address me less points than I have the right to earn. Sometimes they even remove my points. They are not a trustable company that owns what is being saying in the website.

What is the point?

What is the point?
I have had repeated award and then removal of points on false claim that I have not completed the purchases via Avios online shopping, which is not true.
Other times points have not been awarded at all, such as Sainsburys, the list goes on.
Why, Avios? What is the point of you? Surely this is not right!
Customer fully complies and yet you make up false allegations and ignore customer's attempts to contact you.
Would a complaint to Trading Standards, or a Regulatory body help? I think I will try, Avios you are dishonest.

Why doesn't the Activity show the Purchase ID for all purchases tracked etc that used to be seen under the old BAEC? It would assist the customer when raising the endless Missing Avios Claim forms we submit.

Dishonest, poor customer service

This is the worst company I have ever had to deal with. Customer service appears to be trained to not actually deal with issues, but fob you off without a answer. If they cancel your flight and you paid with years worth of avios points you will never get these returned to your account. They are dishonest and an unprofessional company. Do yourself a favour and don't sign up with an avios card! It's worthless!

Worst experience using a loyalty program

I’ve never encountered such an unreasonably restrictive and opaque system in any frequent flyer program.

I’ve been trying to transfer Avios from my British Airways account to Finnair Plus for several days. The system is completely broken — stuck at “security checks” with no timeline, no resolution, and absolutely no support.

I contacted both BA and Finnair. BA said the issue is on Finnair’s side. Finnair confirmed it’s not their issue. I also tried transferring via Qatar Airways — same problem. Clearly the block is on BA’s end, but they refuse to escalate or even investigate.

I even offered to provide ID to verify my account and get it unlocked. Still, nothing.
It’s shocking that customers are not allowed to use the points they’ve earned, and support staff just pass you around endlessly.

This experience has completely ruined my trust in the Avios ecosystem, and it seriously affected my ability to book a time-sensitive flight.

I will think twice before collecting or using Avios again.

My wife suddenly passed

My wife suddenly passed, and I wanted to use her Avios confirmed ticket through British Airways for a substitute passenger. After hours on hold, multiple emails with death certificate copies, they said it could not be done. Despite the fact that there were still seats open on the flight. Clearly British Airways and American do not reciprocate loyalty.

I have been chasing 1700 John Lewis points since March - 5 months and nothing. I even got an email saying they had been awarded after chasing, but still nothing. No way to contact support other than through raising a points dispute - which does nothing. Who the heck is leading the customer experience at this place? 'Zero' stars if I could - get it together -useless

DISGRACEFUL

BEEN CHASING 15000 POINTS FOR 4 MONTHS. 8 COMPLAINTS LOGGED, RECEIVED 2 GENERIC RESPONSES THAT ANSWER NOTHING AND 2 WHEREBY THE AMOUNT OFFERED IS 11000. WE’VE CANCELLED OUR BA AMEX CARDS DURING THIS TIME, AFTER THIS IS SORTED WE’LL SPEND THE POINTS OVER THE NEXT YEAR AND AVOID BA ALTOGETHER. THEY’RE CON ARTISTS AT THIS POINT.

Getting worse by the day

Getting worse by the day. Doesn’t register traffic, have to constantly check if your purchase has registered which mostly it doesn’t. Often links from the site don’t work, they, refuse to give miles when you’ve clearly shown receipts and even when you’ve used AMEX for purchases they still cant coordinate! What is the point if you have to keep filling out missing transaction forms? I have filled out 3 today alone. Then they take miles away when they deem you’ve not met requirements you know you have met. It’s just a long winded experience now, not sure I will stay.

SCAM SCAM … DO NOT FALL FOR IT!!!

Cancelling points randomly after offering it with all sorts of lies. Even with all the evidence in the world, won’t reissue the points. DO NOT BOOST points, you will loose your money. This is all a SCAM to make you spend money. Hardly honour points , even they do, it gets withdrawn after a while with one lie or the other. Stay away , it’s not worth it. Save towards that dream flight instead AVIOS points won’t achieve that for you. It’s a SCAM.

Absolutely terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. The attitude of the customer service agent, LIAM, was appalling—I’ve never experienced more frustrating service. Even the guy at my local fried chicken shop serves with a smile and actually enjoys his job. Absolutely terrible.

website down 4 days!

want to buy more avios to book flight, avios site wont let me, problem with site , been like it 4 days now, complained, response is they are working on it but doesn't know when will be fixed, in meantime flights getting booked up so by the time I can use site there will be no availability!!

Missing Avios Points!!!

I save up Avios Points and I earn extra by shopping through the Avios App with partners of Avios and I always shop in exactly the same way every time and use my Avios App then select save and in the search field I input the name of the retailer and follow all the other rules in order for me to be awarded the Avios Points that I’m due. I often get the Avios Points awarded that I’m due but on far too many occasions I either just don’t get the Avios Points awarded at all or I get them sometimes after several months but then several months later the Avios Points can be removed from my account and I am never given the exact reason and all of the staff at Avios always turn the blame onto me by saying things like my last click wasn’t on the same shop or another invalid reason and then you are fighting with Avios and what can you do when they are blaming me? I then always have to fill in a lengthy missing Avios Points claim form and even though it can be many months later Avios expect you to provide them with proof of the order number and invoice showing how much your order cost and confirmation that I have paid that amount in full!
Please BA and Avios put whatever is wrong with your system right or change something on it so that if you should have received Avios Points then you get them and get to keep them if I have done everything right!!

Avios Impossible to link accounts and transfer points

Zero or minus stars would be more appropriate. Shockingly poor customer service. For three months I have been trying to link my Avios / BA account with my Loganair Loyalty in order to transfer my points. I have followed the steps to the letter, going through Two Factor authentication etc etc. I have tried different devices and browsers. All I get is a 'something has gone wrong' message. I have phoned BA's customer service multiple times (Avios doesn't have any way of contacting - no email, no online form, no phone number, not even an AI chatbot) and each time I have been told something different from: 'Loganair isn't a partner with Avios' (!) to 'It's an IT problem, try again after 3pm' to 'This has been escalated and someone will phone you back (told that three times, no-one ever phoned back) to 'This is a back office issue'. I have submitted a complaint via their online form. I have even written and posted a hard copy letter to BA customer services postal address. The response? Two completely unsatisfactory emails from someone called Emma Bradley, one saying my accounts are linked already and outlining the steps to move points (demonstrating a total failure to read my query) and one saying that Loganair are best placed to answer my query! Not sure how another airline can solve the issues of BA's online system, but I did actually phone Loganair - unlike BA you can speak to a real person who actually tries to understand the issue, but it being a BA Avios issue, of course they can't do anything. To add insult to injury I got a further email from BA saying they were very busy dealing with a high volume of complaints (no wonder) and directing me to phone their customer service! A circle of hell. BA if you're reading this, my 'case reference' number is 07063325.
