Rubbish Customer Service From Argos online

I have just had an awful experience with Argos online, I will never order anything from them again, rubbish service, rude, unhelpful customer service agents, delayed delivery dates, they lied about that and then when I cancelled my order, reluctantly today they will not refund my money for another 5 working days, disgraceful, stay way from them if you value peace of mind. Stay away!!!!

I bought a hotpoint tumble drier and washing machine 18 months ago, I have had nothing but problems with them, i have paid for the extended warranty, yet it takes two weeks to see an engineer, i have spent the best part of £100 phoning both indesit and argos, and lots of promised phone calls back, yet they dont bother!! to top it off my tumble drier almost caught fire two weeks ago, and smoked out my whole home, but are they bothered???these two big companies need to make a huge improvement to their customer services, its almost like talking to robots, everything read from a script, i have had enough, months and hours of my time trying to have working appliances, so angry and fed up!, So if your reading this take my advice and AVOID !!!

Delivery Service poor standard

Absolutely worse service ever! Placed order 15th march 2014, for nursery 5 piece furniture set. Argos taken money from my bank account.

1st delivery date 2nd April 2014 un available so can't deliver.

2nd delivery date 22nd April 2014 un available
So can't deliver.

3rd delivery date 2nd May 2014, but still can't guarantee delivery.

Bad!!! Everything electrical I've ever bought in this place breaks down as soon as the guarantee is out of date.

My Smart Bush TV wasn't so smart as the 'Smart' never really worked, now the guarantee has just ran out and the remote is faulty and the TV won't correspond to it. I am so annoyed asi bought this hoping it may be a little better than the old one I won a few years back, which still works!!! Not happy. 😡👿😡

Mostly my experience was good ,sometimes I had some inferior product but they offer return and refund
They have many warehouses all over the uk and you can collect from the store also or have it posted
Bought a oil heater and some presents for father and the products arrived on tim with fast shipping

the worst customer service ever received.

I have had several run ins with argos customer services, they are rude and unhelpful. I have been waiting for my order to arrive it is now 2 weeks late all argos say is its in the terms and conditions now been given a new date for delivery another 2 weeks away.....they have already taken the £350 out of my account other wise I would of cancelled....I will be cancelling my order if they let me down again but I bet I will have to wait 10 days to receive my money back. Either way Argos will never receive my custom again.....Amazon all the way from now on.

Terrific at causing problems. Yet to meet staff willing or able to solve them.

In January 2014 I bought a wacom "medium size" graphics tablet from Argos Lewes store, http://www.argos.co.uk/static/Product/partNumber/1715411.htm. I was invited to pay on an Argos Credit Card opened for this £89 purchase, offering a 3 month delay in paying. (They didn't mention the 25 minute delay going through their contorted application process at the till.) On receiving the tablet I saw it was the small size. They explained that the website and catalogue list the medium size but the shop only stocks the small size for the same price as the medium one. So I returned it without even opening the pack or leaving the store. However the card that the refund would go onto had not yet been issued so the customer services person disappeared for half an hour to talk on the phone with the card department, taking no notice of my repeated requests that I was late for taking my son to his event and could not hang around. Eventually she said it was all sorted out and the transaction was cancelled. Then I received the card and an account from Argos cards showing an £89 charge for the item and no cancellation or refund. I phoned Argos and was told it would be sorted out within a few days and they would call to confirm. They never called and when I called them again they then said there was no way they could sort it out; that the transaction had not been refunded; that as far as they knew I actually had bought the item; and they were just a card company and not even part of Argos. They said I must go back into the store (an hour's journey from here) as this was the only way to get the refund. When I went back to the store the same customer services person was there. She again spent almost half an hour on the phone to Argos cards, then said it was up to the card people to solve, not the store, but the right people weren't there and I would need to come back in again another day since the card people would want to talk to me as well as the store. She took no responsibility for the problem, provided no reassurance that she would solve it - just endlessly making me listen to excuses. She said she would try calling them again in a couple of days and that it would be too much work for her to get someone else to call sooner. When I was upset at the ridiculous way that a customer was being treated she said she was upset because I wasn't listening to her enough and she said she could now tell me to leave the store with nothing resolved and hours of my time wasted.

Thinking she might want to know I said that the product description that had been wrong in January was now still wrong in April, she said this was not her job or her department and there was nothing she could do about it.

I advise everyone to stay as far away as possible from Argos.

best price ive found

Was after a SDcard compatible mp3 player, and with only a few of them around i was only looking at a couple of models.
Google only brought up a few results on sale prices, but then found a code for Argos.
Searched on there and was the cheapest price on the net, which was surprising, as its normally amazon.
Then with the voucher went even less, and was able to pick it up straight away 20mins down the road. :)

ARGOS own brand electric blanket set fire to my bed!

The other night my upstairs smoke alarm went off and when I ran up to see what has happening I found smoke coming from my bed. I quickly pulled the power and found the cable on the electric blanket had burnt through where it joins the blanket and set fire to sheet. If I had been any slower the whole bed would have gone up!
Looking for the manufacturer to complain I found that WINTERWARM are an ARGOS own brand but also that many other people have had exactly the same problem and reported it to ARGOS even before I bought the blanket off them. Why it was still for sale and hasn't been recalled I don't know.
I went to my local branch and got no joy as I don't still have the receipt. I called their HO and got the same response. "How to we know you bought it from us?". My answer "Because you are the only people who sell them and you took all responsibility for the product from Morphy Richards (the actual manufacturer) when they made it for you." cut no mustard.
So ARGOS sold me an Electric blanket they already knew was dangerous when I bought it and refuse to accept any responsibility without proof that I bought it form them when I couldn't have bought it from anyone else.
I have always been a fan of ARGOS in the past but having hit their customer service brick wall this time and the fact that they knowingly sold me a dangerous product that could have burnt my house down I will shop elsewhere in future!

Delivery service was acceptable, trying to return the incorrect goods that were delievered the customer service is totally unacceptable

Incorrect goods delivered, 2 wardrobe doors were the wrong style and a larger size than advertised on the website. My email confirmation for the order stated goods must be returned within 7 days. 2 telephone calls (both times on hold for a considerable length of time) and 2 emails later I am now on day 10 and am no nearer confirming a collection date. I have been told twice somebody would call me back but so far I have received zero communication from them.
The customer service is totally unacceptable for a company this size, they have supplied incorrect goods yet keep hold of my money and do not return my calls.
I will never order anything for home delivery from Argos/Homebase again and will advise friends and family against it.

Argos Delivery Thugs

Ordered a fridge freezer for my mother who is 84 and chose Argos for it's express delivery and the fact that they will remove all the packaging from large items. The fridge freezer was more expensive from Argos but I was willing to pay the extra.

Well they don't remove any of the packaging from large items the rude shirty delivery men make aggressive calls when they can't work out the standard address numbering on a normal street and don’t unpack or remove packaging. I don't live near by so my sister had to lift the fridge freezer to get all the packaging from under it and now they are left with a whole load of packaging to get rid of.

Argos spend a little less time on adverts with blue aliens in and a bit more time sorting out your delivery thugs!!

Amazing staff was my life saver today

I ordered 2 large items online unfortunately they did not deliver on these items so I went to my local store to collect and to my horror the 2 items were to large and heavy to even pick up let alone carry. So I ask a member of staff if they can help me to get it downstairs and outside the shopping centre the manager was very happy to help as I did not have transport home I asked him if he could ring a mini cab he also was very helpful in doing that as well then the manager lifted the items into a trolley and pushed the trolley to the destination outside the shopping centre and he was polite all throughout he was my life saver I would not been able to get my items home without the kindness of the manager at putney store.Big thank you it really made me feel that you can still have faith in people's kindness .

Awful service from start to finish

ordered online, was given a 12 hour delivery slot?!? meant had to take the day off work. when the order was delivered an item was missing and another damaged.

Had to chase them about the other item and was told it wouldn't be delivered till a month later, if I hadn't chased they would have never told me.

The other item they arranged to pick up...another 12 hour pick up slot, another day off work and they didnt even turn up!

Bought a travel cot and the accessories as advertised in the catalogue were all missing. Staff in the shop were not even slightly interested ,contacted Argos on their website and the response was hopeless,after years of shopping with this company I will not be wasting my time or money on them in the future

Website never stays the same.

Argos has always been an amazing company. Just in the last year however they have changed the website so many times. When I now search for something I get just a blank page and have to use Google to search something like, Argos Brita. This week I've had one filter in stock in the 10 nearest stores. I looked again last night and still in stock. Tonight I've searched again and now every store is out of stock. I search for Pillows and white screen comes up again. Thinking about switching from Argos to someone else!

Great when shopping in store but never have anything delivered!

I have used argos a number of times for shopping in store and whilst the customer service is not great the prices and convenience are always worth the experience. However the worst experience was when I ordered a wardrobe for home delivery. This was a total disaster! We ordered the item and were told it was 8 - 12 weeks for delivery, this in itself is not the end of the world as we knew this when we placed the order.
The issue was what happened next. We were called the day before delivery telling us the item will be with us the following day. We waited in all day and when 4:30pm rolled around I called up and they told me there had been a loading error and the item was not on the lorry and it would be another 4 weeks before they could send it out again! Rubbish! But I could do nothing so had to wait. 4 weeks pass and on the day before delivery I call argos to confirm I will 100% have the item and am assured I will but needless to say EXACTLY THE SAME THING HAPPENED!!!
I finally get the wardrobe 2 weeks after the 2nd failed delivery, I assemble the item and one of doors has scraches all over it.
This has been a total disaster from the word go and I would NEVER order anything for home delivery again

utter rubbish company

yoga 10" tablet 2months old returned to shop with separated seam at the bottom of the tablet sent away for repair 14days later informed it does not come under warrenty as it is not an electrical fault and their would be a charge for repair asked for it to be returned when it arrived their was a note in the box saying warrenty now void WHAT A LOAD OF SHIT

ARGOS - SHIT company ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Their customer service group and return policy is completely rubbish. They cheat on customers! Do NOT trust this company!

I had requested for returning an item within 30 days of purchase, however, it's been 3 months from the day I asked them to come and collect it. The item is still in my room! I had requested for 6 times in total and they kept ignoring me for 6 times!! Every time I phoned them, they made a promise to me to send somebody to collect the item, and they asked me to wait from 7am to 8pm. But NO ONE comes!!! They had never ever contact any carriers to come!

Their customer service group even asked me to carry the item out to shop by myself, but the item was 15 kg and over 1M long!! It takes me 45 minutes of bus journey and 30 minutes of walk to Argos shop. They also rejected to explain what happened and why they keep doing this.
Argos really loves to cheat on customer!!

Argos are thefts - DONT USE THEM
I placed an order for a new bed then nearly 2 weeks after taking my money there was no stock yet. Surprisingly the system didn't state this in store. I got a call 1 day before the delivery date. I had no bed to sleep on so thanks Argos
